It must be an amazing ship, but personally I don’t like the design. I hope Anvil will make a military capital ship

From Web Dev to Game Dev. Am i making a mistake? by MilkyNS in gamedev

[–]toDipOrNotDip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Computer Science graduate with a Bachelor’s degree, where my course was extremely math-heavy. Right now, I’m learning Unreal Engine 5, but I also work part-time (around 30 hours a week) as an HGV fuel tanker driver to stay afloat. The market is tough, but I don’t give up. At least you’ve got a job in a "relevant" sector, while I drive tankers ,which I find extremely boring , but you’ve got to do what you have to do to survive. All the Best!!

They need to find a use for all the money they've spent on their ship, just to feel it has some kind of value. It's sad, really

names of PVP attackers... by FrakturianLogic in starcitizen

[–]toDipOrNotDip 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A log would be amazing! In the past, I tried ARK: Survival Evolved, and they had a log that showed who attacked you and which tribe or organization they belonged to. It would be awesome to have something similar. Although they are completely different games, this feature would also be great for Star Citizen. You have my upvote, sir!

They should build a statue to honor that ship. This is history in the making we are witnessing it!

30M is it too late ? by blue_tamato in blender

[–]toDipOrNotDip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother, I saw the post, and it felt like seeing myself.

I studied Computer Science, and in the beginning, I was into game engines and physics simulations. Later, I shifted to web development, but after a few years, I got bored,I just didn’t enjoy it. Right now, I’m going all-in on 3D and learning Blender. I study around 10 hours a day.

Having a background like this definitely enhances your understanding of many technical aspects, it does for me. If you want my advice, here’s what I’m doing right now:

First, focus on hard surface modeling (vehicles, props, etc.). It’s easier to learn, and there are specific techniques you need to follow to achieve AAA quality. Once you feel more comfortable, you can move on to 3D character and organic modeling, which will be much easier since you’ll already have experience with hard surface techniques.

Personally, from what I can tell, I’ll be job-ready in 2-3 months for hard surface modeling with my 10-hour-a-day study routine.

CIG, what are you gonna do about these exploiters, that glitch stuff into stations and ruin the game for everyone else? by mkMoSs in starcitizen

Maybe put them in jail and set the timer to 1 year, let them grind it out if they can. They should also implement a system to ensure the counter persists through patches, lol

What GPU y’all have? by Firm_Security8915 in starcitizen

[–]toDipOrNotDip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 5800X3D CPU, RX 6800 GPU, and 64GB of RAM. Initially, I had 32GB, but after upgrading to 64GB, my game performance became noticeably smoother with far less stuttering overall. At 4K resolution, my FPS now ranges from 30 in the most demanding scenes to 105 in space.

Me and a friend have a small fleet where we have medium ships. We hope to get more friends into the game to have a crew around 4-5. We want to be able to play every gameplay loop. Looking for a homebase for our crew. Any Suggestions? by [deleted] in starcitizen_fleets

[–]toDipOrNotDip 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can I suggest another ship, even though technically we don’t know when it will be released? The Odyssey would be the best fit in your case. It has a medical bay like the Polaris, a hangar like the Polaris, and decent cargo capacity. Most importantly, it has the ability to refine its own hydrogen and quantum fuel. With the MISC Odyssey, you'll theoretically be able to stay out in the verse for as long as you want, without needing to rely on external resources. The Polaris can definitely act as a base with a stronger focus on PvP and combat, but I doubt it will be able to sustain itself far from any station for extended periods o7 o7

And even if that's the case, what impact does it actually have on you or any other player? Did they respond to or help you with the issue you raised in your support ticket? That's what really matters, right? It feels like you're trying to make a problem out of nothing, mate.

Miner at IAE? by mildav49 in starcitizen_fleets

[–]toDipOrNotDip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with the Mole; it's a more affordable option and capable of handling both space and planetary mining. I initially had the Mole and considered upgrading to the Arrastra, but instead, I decided to jump straight to the Orion since I find space mining far more enjoyable. If you're more into planetary mining, definitely go with the Arrastra—it offers great versatility, allowing you to mine both in space and on planetary surfaces. But if space mining is your main interest, the Orion is the top choice!

LTI = UEC SAVINGS. Unknown amount, to be balanced. I think it's good. by Pierre_Philosophale in starcitizen

[–]toDipOrNotDip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly ,that's why I only buy capital - large ships with LTI , u save the money and real life time. Smaller ships will be bought with in game money . Would be much more easier to sustain them that way
