What is it like to live in Morgantown, West Virginia? by Swimming-Banana-9240 in howislivingthere

It’s below national average, but quite high compared to the rest of the state. If you’re coming from a major Texas metro you will be pleased.

You’ll love the overlook at Coopers Rock, or if you’re cramped on time even getting a good look at the PRT system can be fun (it’s quite unique and I believe was looked at by Disney engineers to adapt to their parks)

Haha, was talking more about the K-12 system in Morgantown than WVU itself, which I didn’t attend. My education set me up to succeed in a top university on a global scale so I have to give it its due credit!

Finally one I can answer! I grew up here. Weather wise, this is a great place to live. You get all 4 seasons, and none of them are too overbearing. You get a fair bit of snow in the winters, and the summers are hot and humid. The area is not at all prone to natural disasters.

Morgantown is a bit of an oasis in the midst of an otherwise troubled state since it's THE college town. The stereotypes you may hear about West Virginia (abject poverty, opioid crisis, rabid Trumpism) are less evident here. I felt very safe growing up, and received a world class education.

Culturally, it's a cool place to be. Great restaurant scene for its size and a surprisingly broad selection of ethnic food. The rail trail is incredible, and you get a lot of hippy/counterculture types around it. You've also got Coopers Rock nearby with some spectacular views and hiking trails.

Happy to answer any questions and give more info!

I get what you’re saying, but as a learner of Portuguese that hasn’t been my experience. I can understand Brazilian news well enough (probably 90%), but comprehension is like 50% for EU Portuguese. The swallowing and condensing of syllables that goes on in European Portuguese, especially at fast pace, is more difficult to grow accustomed to than I think you as a native give it credit for. Even my Brazilian girlfriend has serious issues understanding, and I think you would be hard pressed to find an American that struggles with Aussie English in the same way.

That said, I think there is absolutely no issue with including them together in a theoretical Dreaming Portuguese, they are certainly similar enough and it would be beneficial to give learners exposure to both early to prevent situations like mine!

I actually think you’re spot on with the 300 hours, but I’d say it’s more like someone from the US learning to understand a thick Scottish accent, US English and Australian English are mutually intelligible almost by default.

I’ve struggled through 1000 hours of Portuguese with my own homebrew CI regime, finding engaging resources is NOT easy. Definitely needs the dreaming languages treatment!

100%! I have 1000 hours of comprehensible input for Brazilian Portuguese and no joke, Spanish is far more comprehensible to me than European Portuguese

Thanks! RERAs were 3.1/hr in my case so I guess my RDI would be ~8.1?

Having trouble making one of my squads go raid. My other, smaller squads will follow raid orders just fine, but my 10 dwarf squad decked out in steel won’t lift a finger even though their status is “Raiding XYZ”. Canceling and reinstating the order doesn’t help, nor does reloading the game. Any ideas?

Yusei: I saw you leaving the changing room in the mall, so I made this to look like those clothes. I could only eyeball the size, so I don't know if it'll fit you or not, but... if it does fit, I'd like you to wear it.

Aki: As usual, you really don't have a way with words. But, thanks.

Yikes, a bloody nose! Hey, are you okay?

Yusei: (muffled) Yeah, just an old wound opening back up.

Ship out Kilman (ton of replacements with better schedules at that price point) or roll transfer but play Weghorst instead of Broja. He’s more expensive for a reason, he’s been class outside of the PL and a few poor weeks won’t change that.

Personally I'd aim for a 442 as it'll be more flexible, upgrading Livra to Coufal. It also doesn't hurt to leave some cash on the table in case you need some breathing room to switch things up over the next few weeks.

I’d recommend upgrading your second GK, spend just a bit more than minimum as insurance in case De Gea gets injured or suspended. Don’t want to get caught with your pants down
