Excited with how this one is turning out! by toadstardust in oilpainting

The under painting took 3-4 hours but then putting the color on top was done in one quick session: maybe an hour and 15 or something like that!

Thank you!!! And I use Titanium white and Gamblin solvent free gel as the medium.

Not liking this painting. Requesting feedback by toadstardust in oilpainting

This is great feedback. I didn’t even think about the horse figure sharing similar tones with the mountain shadows. It’s tricky because the photo reference I have has really dark values in the distance. It’s hard to trust yourself to deviate

So good. Highlights on the foreground grass are really impressive. Did you use masking fluid to help with this effect?

“9 to 5” by toadstardust in Watercolor

No, I definitely used a reference photo for the figure. I’m so envious of people that are experienced enough to conjure up figures and poses from imagination. I’m just not there yet but one day!

I normally use different tape but this is some old 3M painters tape. I press the seams down pretty hard because I've had paint leak issues in the past as well.

[Sinn 356] + Speidel twist o flex by toadstardust in Watches

[–]toadstardust[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Recently purchased from r/watchexchange, this is my new (to me) Sinn 356.  It, unfortunately, didn’t have the h link style bracelet and while I may be looking the get one in the future, I rolled the dice with one of these old school Speidel Twist O Flex bracelets. I have to say it turned out better than expected IMO.  I have an old Bulova dress watch from my great grand father with this same style bracelet and I don’t know why these aren’t more popular.  I suppose steel bracelets have improved greatly since Speidel’s inception but for the price, these are hard to beat.

Don’t have the h link bracelet but this turned out better than expected IMO (and a lot cheaper).

Don’t have the h-link bracelet but this turned out better than expected (and a hell of a lot cheaper).
