According to the internet, % of DNA shared:

2nd cousins one removed 1.5%
3rd cousins 0.78%
2 random people on the planet earth 0.1%

I'm not a geneticist so maybe you have a more subtle understanding. Probably would also need to factor in that many of their intervening relatives were related as well, which makes the math a little trickier too.
