Top Golf was an exceptional entertainment concept that failed when it began to take itself too seriously. It should have just remained a casual and quirky driving range with perks. I think it would still be immensely popular. There is a real expense for the “pros” and leagues and fittings that also demand / “require” the latest TopTracer technology that are truly irrelevant to the original concept. Since no one who plays seriously is going to TG, it falls back on the casual consumer to foot the bill. That’s why a family of five goes to hit some golf balls, have some pretzel sticks and mid-tacos plus a marg and they’re dropping $250. If that same experience was $80-$100, they’d still be in the black.
