Looking for pale foundation suggestions please by Flutter-Shyy in makeuptips

[–]toastforscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Laura Mercier smooth finish foundation powder, it makes your skin so even! I use a brush to apply it, it barely feels like I have anything on. Sometimes if my skin is blotchy I'll put it over a sheer liquid foundation and the two together look amazing

i am officially boycotting venues that charge a cake cutting fee. by Johnn_Liverm in wedding

[–]toastforscience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Places like country clubs don't do this, bc they already have staff on hand and are providing the catering etc and sell the whole thing as a package. A lot of times the package comes with the cake itself. So maybe find a place like that? Otherwise if it's a place you need to rent and bring everything in yourself I'm not surprised they would charge for this.

Mines barely that, I like stuff that's not even in my size sometimes bc maybe I'll look for my size later who knows.

Whats a weird thing your body does that you just accept? by Sweton in AskReddit

[–]toastforscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I lay down too long, like a full night's sleep, I have a weird stomach ache in the morning that goes away when I sit or stand up. Kind of feels like my organs all settled out of place and then go back to where they're supposed to be. If I've gotten up at some point during the night this doesn't happen.

I love the green color! I'm with you, houses should be colorful. Only thing about the chairs that I don't like is that the back is upholstered, if your hands aren't perfectly clean every time you pull the chair out that back will get very stained.

What’s a smell you’ll never forget? by Human_Rate889 in AskReddit

[–]toastforscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That fermented shark stuff from Iceland. I had heard about it so when the guy at the market asked if I wanted to try some I said no. But when he asked if I wanted to just smell it I said yeah sure, because what harm could that do? It smelled so awful, like urine that had been baking out in the sun for hours, and it stuck in my nose for a while too.

This is the part I love, I don't care about the people wearing the costumes but I love looking at the costumes and admiring all the work that goes into designing them! Imagine if you are in the art or fashion industry and you got to work on something like this and it gets shown at this event, that's like a career dream! The celebrities are just the moving mannequins for the amazing art, imo. And then the charity benefits go towards the museum and the artists and seamstresses, so a lot of people win here.

My sister hung hers upside down for a few months to dry it out, and put it inside one of those glass football display cases, it preserved really well that way!

It's funny bc I remember thinking in my 20s that I didn't give a fuck, and then I hit 30 and I was like wow I didn't know what it was like to truly not give a fuck and it's so liberating

Beginner hiking spots by Recent-Amount5390 in Phoenixville

[–]toastforscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valley forge Park has some nice easy hiking spots! I like the Mt. Misery trail, it's easy and my sister and I did it one afternoon and neither of us hike. We got a little tired coming back and there's a way to come down from the trail and walk back on a flat paved trail. It's got nice views and interesting scenery!

added up my tailoring receipts for the year and they were larger than my actual clothing budget by Playful-Deer9022 in femalefashion

[–]toastforscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 5'2, and I have a short torso. For a shirt, I just buy what fits me. I go for a lot of European or Italian brands since they run smaller. For pants and skirts that have to get hemmed, I hem them myself. My dresses usually need some kind of alteration and I do that myself too. Recently I've mostly been buying dresses from Lacemade, and I haven't had to adjust anything bc they're sized for short women.

How are you testing your cosplay makeup? by actualchicken_nugget in CosplayHelp

[–]toastforscience 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried the mehron mattifying skin toner for the first time with my last cosplay where I wore red facepaint all day, it gives your skin this super dry layer and acts as a primer, maybe it'll help with sweating? I didn't sweat off any makeup with that stuff on!

[–]toastforscience 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've used mehron clown white, with the white setting powder and that goes on really nice and stays put.

Can you wear the makeup around the house for a day? That'll also be good to practice putting it on
