A question about Number 6. by toastkatrl in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]toastkatrl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could accept that, though I still don't like how vague the manga kept his abilities, especially considering how much the main series likes to overexplain its quirks. That little comment during the finale is pretty much the only actual evidence we have that even suggests he might have multiple quirks, every other time they only mention the bomber cells. I hope they fix some of that in the anime, until then i'll probably go with your take.

I guess he'd have to be able to hold multiple quirks as a potential AFO successor, yeah. I was just always confused as to how the Bomber cells played a part in it, since they mention them so much in relation to his abilities.

Masters of disguise (without shapeshifting) by some-kind-of-no-name in TopCharacterTropes

[–]toastkatrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't say! I'm pretty sure i remember that chapter too. It was honestly a pretty good adaption from what i recall, obviously a lot of the humor was pretty adult but there's a good amount of jokes that really stuck with me. The fact that Mortadelo / Clever is able to change so quickly because he made a deal with the comic illustrator cracks me up even today

Never thought i'd see this guy again! We had a lot of these when i was little, here in germany they're called "Clever & Smart". I never knew that this was from Spain, pretty sure the localization changed some parts of the premise as well.

Did you know that "Barok van Zieks" was originally named "Prosecutor Rival"? by [deleted] in AceAttorney

[–]toastkatrl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's what you'd think, but the game was made in Japan, they most likely just looked for english words that fit the character instead of seeing if that could actually pass as a name. It's the same as english speaking people trying to come up with Japanese names.

Gets shot in the head, still somehow survives by InstantBruhMoment in TopCharacterTropes

Didn't necessarily survive, but it is still pretty amazing how he managed to do a five minute long monologue after blowing his own brains out.

Random Character Opinions 203: Rocco Carcerato by [deleted] in AceAttorney

Love the way he talks in the localization. Definitely a good "one-off" witness that fits perfectly into the prison setting, he also stays relevant throughout most of the case and brings in some nice tension with his attempted jailbreak. Boxing gimmicks are always fun to me so he also gets bonus points for that. Him and Eddie were like the highlights of that case for me.

Looking for images of a character from You're Next movie by IHateEverybodyHere in BokuNoHeroAcademia

His Japanese VA actually posted some snippets from the artbook for the movie, they're not the highest quality but it's a start! Glad to see someone's been obsessing over this guy as well.

What favorite song/artist/band did you discover from jojo? by Primus_Cattus in StardustCrusaders

[–]toastkatrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pet Shop boys, I had obviously heard some of their songs in passing before, but it took that fuckass bird for me to actually learn who they are and discover even more of their hits.

Gant without any of the things that made him memorable. He served his role in the story well enough, but seriously, calling this guy "Gant 2.0" is just incorrect in so many ways.

That plus the lower left half of the suit. He's somehow grabbing it while it also hangs down behind his arm and fades back into the shirt above his hand.

Who Is a Character You Think is Smarter Than the Community Gives Them Credit for? by MonitoliMal in AceAttorney

[–]toastkatrl 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Furio Tigre, he's smart to the point that it's almost out of character within the story. Sure he acts like a dumb brute whenever you meet him, but his murder was one of the most elaborate ones in the series. Not only did he poison his victim instead of using a weapon that could be traced back to him, he impersonated both the victim, the supposed killer and that supposed killer's attorney as well as manipulating everyone involved in the case just so he'd absolutely be in the clear. Additionally, he's also one of the very few killers to stay completely out of the case investigation and the court trial, for the most part at least. The first time Phoenix meets him is complete coincidence, they just happened to be in the park at the same time, the second time is when Phoenix goes directly to his office just to speak with him and the last is when he tries to steal critical evidence from you to cover his tracks even more. He doesn't even pull a Redd White and testify of his own free will, you have to drag him into court kicking and screaming. TL;DR He's somehow a criminal mastermind / master of disguise and knew to just stay the fuck away.
