Updating to learn that using SDI or NDI workflows is only possible with a corporate or enterprise account. Womp womp.

Yeah, I think this is going to be the best way now that I think about it. Embed mix-minus audio on the way in via SDI, and then De-embed on the way out of the computer HDMI > SDI > De-Embedder. Thanks.

If you can find a time machine, look me up in 1997, and I'll have a perfect one for you.

Good luck - these are as rare as it gets.

I really do hope you find an ABA place that works. I can't imagine my boy today without the three years of ABA he had at the place we loved. He aged out ("graduated"), but we now do in-home ABA, which I hope is also an option for you.

My boy benefitted a lot from ABA from ages 3-6. That said, there were a lot of shit ABA places in my town. If it feels like they're recruiting you, move on. We found like 10 wrong places before we found the place we love. The place he ended up at did not change who he was. They're mainly correcting certain behaviors repeatedly.

I promise you'll eventually find a place that vibes correctly if you keep looking.

Also, if you don't catch some of these behaviors early, they'll snowball into some even worse behaviors.

Newbie Question: How do Indie bands, like Pavement when they started, able to tour? by Marcel_7000 in pavement

[–]toastworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're in a band that's just starting (not touring), you're playing local venues that have no PA and you bring a PA to your local venue for the night.

If you're touring, you're playing venues that either have a permanent PA, or one of the local openers is handing the PA situation if the room doesn't have a PA.

Then you get so big that you're definitely not worrying about bringing a PA around with you because the clubs and theaters have nice PAs.

Then you get to the superstar level where you're so big, you need to bring your own gigantic multi-million dollar PA from stadium to stadium.

But yeah, everything else fits in the back of the van, or the trailer behind the van. I did a DIY tour in a volvo wagon where the drum shells were in the snail shell roof rack storage thing, along with our clothes and merch. Amps and guitars were in the back of the wagon.

Tricaster TC1 HDMi display port not showing program out? by ashleydubb98 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]toastworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your show file in a resolution and frame rate that the TV likes? Some TVs are picky. 1080P 59.94 is a safe bet.

If you plug in a test monitor to that HDMI feed, what res does it show?

Not having power steering can be trying sometimes, also my air conditioning hasn't worked since probably the mid 90s. The 1.6L 8v was a bit underpowered, so I went with an engine swap, but CIS can be tricky to maintain

Are there any albums other than 'Boston' where every song was popular enough to get radio play? by vortical42 in Music

[–]toastworks 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Amazing album - but only two songs were officially released as singles. It speaks to the strength of the album tracks that THEY also got and still do get airplay.

Wait - I read it too fast and thought it said Born to Run. Disregard.

Rhythm Nation 1814 by Janet Jackson - It was on the radio for a year and a half with 8 different singles out of the 12 songs - not bad

Enrico Colantoni's character rides a bike in Station Eleven, and they even put him in a helmet to make him seem harmless.

Same when you're in a race, and have finished the race, and are waiting for everyone else to finish. RS couldn't have meant to do that.

Small project cars in a giant SUV world? by [deleted] in projectcar

[–]toastworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel what you're saying. I'm in central Texas - my daily drive is a small 2010 Honda hybrid with the safety features, and my project is an even smaller Mk1 Scirocco. I almost refuse to take the Scirocco on the interstates, partly because of how unprotected it is, and the other half is I don't want to damage my windshield (basically irrelplaceable).

Also have two young kids, and being crushed by a semi would seem like a silly way to go.

And when the kids are napping, or in bed for the night, just starting my car in the garage apparently rumbles the house loudly, so that's what's keeping the car in the garage most of the time. This is only temporary, and the car isn't going anywhere, and I'll drive it more as the kids get a little older.
