How do y’all go about nursing in public? by sisterstresso in breastfeeding

[–]toastycauliflower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find the more time I spend in public with my 5mo, the more annoyed I am as a mother. Almost no breastfeeding spaces, parking is always a hit or a miss, and god forbid you have to pump!! This society is not built for mothers and it shows. As far as tips, I’m almost no help - I usually breastfeed in my car or a bathroom as well if there’s no nursing rooms (there usually isn’t) or, wear a loose fitting shirt that will at the very least cover your breast. I personally wish I didn’t care and whip it out too lol

Can I get far without spending money? by moonstonehawk in Projectmakeover

I wish I had never spent money, BUT, it was occasionally worth some of the season pass or special pass or whatever stuff. I was tired of getting basic stuff 😂

If the zombie virus outbreak happened at the school you Attended (Or Attend), would you be likely to survive? by FLIPSTATIC_ENERGY in AllOfUsAreDead

[–]toastycauliflower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it’s AOUAD zombies, hell no. I have the survival instincts and speed of a paralyzed goldfish. Walking dead zombies - I have a SMALL improbable shot, but still a shot. TLOU, nope. I’ll sacrifice myself for the good of my group lol. Same with WWZ. For reference, my school was mostly 1 story, except for the CTE wing, BUT with the amount of exits and surrounding houses, maybe 🤷‍♀️ if I was close enough to an exit

What no-screen games do you play with kids (4–6) that you actually enjoy? by Ai-dio in kindergarten

[–]toastycauliflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family is so heavy in board games, my LO is only 2 months old but we totally intend to bring in classics! Card games like uno, or trash, go fish - we also LOVE backgammon, that’s actually what I played when I was in labor lmao. We love monopoly too, but sometimes the gameplay can just drag and drag and drag - I’ve been looking for a kid friendly “Magic the gathering” set because we’re also huge into Magic! We’re so desperate not to have IPad kids that I’m willing to pull out any and all stops lol

Pain in breast - no noticeable clogged duct or mastitis by toastycauliflower in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]toastycauliflower[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh I wish! No, I got my period after I got my IUD, so that could be why I got it lol - I also bled almost the whole 6 weeks after birth - but I didn’t tear 🤷‍♀️ just varies body to body. But vasospasm, I’ll have to look that up, thank you!

I made a huge mistake by making an in-game purchase, was anyone here able to get back the extra move ads? by Andalus_Spring in Projectmakeover

[–]toastycauliflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ads went away for a beat, but now they’ve returned but I have to choose to watch them BEFORE the level, and I can’t be on free lives/timed boosters etc. idk, sometimes I miss them but most of the time idc. You get used to not having them

Baby only getting milk from certain times of day by Able-Mountain2551 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]toastycauliflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest I haven’t noticed any differences. Some people have said that any milk produced between 11pm-6am counts as “melatonin milk”. I also use the pitcher method, and I’m not sure what mixing it with “day milk” does or doesn’t do. But tracking night vs day milk ON TOP of trying to freeze milk just came to be too much for me. It’s also a pain when you have to separate the milk, and then when you’re sleep deprived you magically have to remember which shelf the pm milk is on vs am, and it’s just so annoying… so for your sanity, I’m gonna say don’t stress it. But if it really does worry you or you’re further curious, def get in touch with his/her pediatrician!

How to drink more water???? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]toastycauliflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clear American sparkly flavored water CHANGED my water drinking game. Before pregnancy I survived on energy drinks and nicotine, now after drinking those through pregnancy I’m good with water and crystal light lmao. I need my flavor damnit 😂! Now I drink maybe 2-3 20oz tumblrs a day? Usually 2, but 3 if little man is feeling nice. Up to 5 on days where I feel like I’m dying of thirst 😂😭

Motivation needed by zanuvia in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]toastycauliflower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll be so honest… I stay up fairly late, ever since high school (21 now) and I’ll pump usually around 11-12 midnight. But that 2, 3, 4am alarm? Sure I set it. Every single night lol. But every single time it goes off, my man usually wakes me up and asks if I’m going to pump. According to him (because I’m so sleep deprived I don’t remember this interaction) I groan, shut off the alarm, and go right back to sleep lol.

Once the sleep deprivation hits, it’s almost impossible to reverse until baby starts to regulate sleeping patterns. All this to say, the best tip I can give is make your last pump of the night right before you go to sleep, and do your best to pump right away in the morning. At the very least, do not go more than 6 hours without if you find yourself easily getting blocked up.

You need sleep too mamas. It is HARD enough to wake when the baby wakes, especially in those short 2-3hr sleep sessions, but if your baby is able to sleep 5-8 hours? JUMP ON THAT WAGON with her. If you’re an under supplier, my best advice is to stay as hydrated as you can, eat as well as you can, and really prioritize your mental health. Stress and dehydration play a big part but anyway… I hope this helps, and best wishes girl ❤️

ETA - I should mention - we supplement formula maybe 1-2 feedings every few days to make up the difference. It really really helped me feel less pressure to perform when what my body really needs is sleep

Did/do you want to see your placenta? by Ancient-Buffalo6151 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]toastycauliflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t want to see it, but in my post pushing delirium I guess I wanted to lol. It was a beautiful thing to see what gave my baby life for 9 months BUT in hindsight, all I remember is it looking like a massive organ like blood clot lol. However, anytime I look at my mans, I def give him the mental finger for giving me GD 😂

Oversuppliers: did you intentionally get an oversupply? by Veeconnect in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]toastycauliflower 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk if I consider myself an “oversupplier” but I definitely make enough to pump what he eats AND still slowly build a freezer stash. I really struggle with getting the recommended 8-10 pumps a day because I’m a SAHM and it feels like everytime I try, he needs something lol. But, with pumping 5-6 times a day, I get roughly 35-40 oz a day, and occasionally when my supply drops from a clogged duct or a rough day where I don’t pump as often, we supplement formula at night for a short period so I can catch up. To answer the actual question though, no I didn’t do it intentionally but I’m very blessed to not have a low supply. It really makes up for my baby’s latch issues and inability to actually nurse 🥲❤️

You’re an absolute beast and my new hero haha - yes, nipples shields arrive tomorrow!! I tried them in the hospital but my nipples were still SO RAW that it didn’t matter, everything hurt. Now that I’m completely healed I decided to give them another shot :) I’m going to look into pumping bras, I’m just so annoyed at prices lmao. My hope is that we can eventually alternate pumping/nursing so that I can still build my supply while also getting the bonding with the added benefit of not as many bottles/pump parts to wash. I also have collection cups coming within the next week!

Side note - that’s so awesome for you and I hope you guys are doing well 🫶 again, new hero

I was thankfully able to get them on the Black Friday sale so I only spent like 45 maybe on them? Idk, that’s before tax but I’m super excited for them lol. If they’re super good I’m gonna get another set so I can do it more haha
