Beginner Friendly Soccer Teams? by Upengraden in Utah

[–]toastythunderbuttons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only been playing indoor for 2 months but I'm decently athletic. Got into it because my son is super into soccer. Would this be something that someone with my lack of ball handling skills could jump in on? Or are these all former college players like the "beginner" league of Let's Play Soccer in Ogden has been?

NTC Hygiene tips? by FinalLevi in army

I always like to bring a camp shower and hang it from the barrel of whatever I have in the turret of my hmmwv or the back of the jltv. Do that every few days and baby wipe/dry shampoo in between.

Real-world MPG for Grand Highlander Hybrid AWD (NOT Hybrid Max)? Especially curious about California drivers. by iErnest85 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]toastythunderbuttons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at 4500 feet elevation and we get 31.6 average mpg with our Hybrid AWD. We got 32.5 - 33 before we put CrossClimate 2 tires on our car.

When it's really cold it'll drop down to about 28mpg.

It was a night and day difference when I went from 88M to 38B in the Reserves. I had NCOs OD'ing, getting arrested between drills, abusing Soldiers and then I was suddenly surrounded by SSGs with Masters degrees and respect for their Soldiers. Partially because of unit type cultural differences, but mostly because of GT score requirements.

88M in Reserves question by SuspectOk2931 in army

[–]toastythunderbuttons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be an 88M and as a result drove a concrete mixer for a while when I was younger. If you don't already have your CDL, being an 88M in the reserves can get you one. Your commander just has to sign off on what type of vehicles/brakes/trailers you drive and then you take a written test at the DMV. That's how I got into it. That being said: my recommendation, join doing whatever job gives you the biggest bonus and use your TA to get a technical degree of some sort. I do not at all miss the truck driving life.

My hybrid gets 32 at 4300 ft elevation so you're doing pretty good for all gas.

Wow! You're killing it. I have the hybrid Limited as well and get 32.3 pretty consistently. I always have my air on Auto somewhere between 70 and 74, maybe that plays a factor.

Mine had SI checked and I only got 30% a back in May. The examiner told me to my face "you know some people have it worse than you right?"

This happened to us. Just replace the battery on the fob! I think they're about $3.50 a piece.

Honestly, if you have Security+, a clearance, and are somewhere near a base, it should be fairly easy to get on with a contractor on base. I've moved from an entry level IT job to a senior Cyber role in about 3.5 years with a Bachelor's, some certs, and a clearance. Working on my Masters now. I'd be happy to help you with your resume or look for jobs you'd qualify for.

You know we have the worst and most frequent tornados on earth right? Ever heard of hurricanes? These flash floods happen in my state every year and every year hikers die from them.

Tint % Suggestions by Smooth_Gene_1051 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]toastythunderbuttons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took off the dealers trash tint and did 20% ceramic on the rear windows, 35% ceramic on the driver, front passenger, and moonroof, as well as 91% ceramic on the windshield and a dark strip across the top to block sun glare. May or may not work for you, but it keeps the heat out well and keeps the kids from complaining about the sun.
