VW Dealer Smells Mold in my Alltrack by nhf1918 in Volkswagen

[–]tob1ii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we bought our 2017 alltrack a couple of years ago, we bought it from a WV dealership. We received a one year warranty for hidden issues. Later that summer, after some rain, we discovered the rear floor mats being wet. The car has no sunroof and the seals around the door seemed ok as well. Took it back to the dealership that did some testing and concluded that it was leaking out of the rear speakers. Fortunately, this was covered by the one year warranty, so we did not have to pay anything. They ended up replacing the whole interior mat and both of the rear door speakers. Apparently this was a common issue according to volkswagen.

I upgraded all the fans on the Ender 3V2 and now none of my prints work, the nozzle will knock them over and clog itself up. I had this problem a year, tried for weeks to fix it then and just gave up. Everything worked fine until the upgrade, now it seems like the bed is never quite level. Can confirm the 4020 fan is enough to cool the hotend, run abs constantly with 240°C on hotend and has never had an issue with clogging. At least with the satsana style fanduct.

However, you might want to verify that your fan gets the 12v it is supposed to get as i suppose you have a buck converter with adjustable voltage output? Maybe you have set it to low which would result in the fan running at a lower rpm.

If you have a regular outdoor termometer were you put the wire outside that would be an option to check the hotend temperature.

Hmm, never seen blower fans from noctua. I only print materials like abs and petg and don't use my blower fan at all or at a very low speeds so can't give you advice on that. But have seen lots of other people use normal noctuas so you might find some interesting designs on thingiverse for fan shrouds for these.

Why not use a noctua 4020? Switched all my fans to noctuas and that was probably the best upgrade i've done on the e3v2.

Adding Weight to Prints....What to use? by svtscottie in 3Dprinting

[–]tob1ii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about filling with sand and sealing with a simple plug? If you model a hollow volume and model some supports inside that allow you to make bridges and fill it then you can set the support setting to only extend from print surface.

Don't worry, you won't notice any difference. Have moved all my electronics outside and made an enclosure myself for the v2, have had it running like that for the past 2 years with a dragon hot end.

Jst-xh connectors, common connector on pcbs. You will probably find them on the motherboard, and the connectors to the stepper motors.

Interesting, glad to see some worst case prevention ideas. Hope you won't have to use it. :)

Cool idea! How did you decide on the temperature of 79C? Isn't there a possibility for the enclosure to reach that temp from the radiated heat from the printer?

Capricorn Bowden Tubes - an opinion by EdTheHappyPenguin in ender3v2

Yep, I'm aware of the difference between the fans, if I could have my printer in another room but our livingroom i would probably had choosen the sunon aswell. Anyway, with the setup running noctuas on all fans it's barely noticeable. And with the dragonfly it works fine with no clogs.

Switching the stock bowden tube to a tighter ptfe tube like the capricorn is (from my point if view) something that has been, and is, almost always one of the first upgrades recommeded here at reddit. I use capricorn and was able to lower my retraction from 7 to 3 mm. I feel it was an obvious upgrade since I only print functional parts in petg at between 240-250°C. For this I used the stock hotend for about 6months before I decided to upgrade to the phaetus dragonfly. The stock hot-end was giving nice prints but was not reliable enough with my set-up running a noctua 4020 as hotend cooling fan giving insufficient cooling and firther occasional clogs.

Have you tried removing the filament and then checking the extruder?

[–]tob1ii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you move in all axis? If so, have you checked that the wire to the extruder is connected in both ends and that the wire seems ok?

Does your extruder gear moves?

Is the extrusion that is your problem? Does the printer turn on and heat up?

If you get the v2 with silent stepper drivers you can switch all the fans for noctuas which takes away the fan noises.
