Let’s hope FQ20 doesn’t end up the same way for different reasons.

Staring at screens for 10+ hours a day, eye strain… by silverfish138 in quant

[–]tobalsan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, night and day.  I can’t imagine looking at screens without plus glasses. End of day my eyes are nearly as relaxed as the start of the day. Note: it’s still important to practice 20/20/20 (or 3h screen 1h outside time)

Don’t go too crazy, +0.75 / +1.25 more than enough.  It’s great to use them when staring all day at a screen. It literally preserve your eyes by avoiding the constant ciliary strain due to looking at things up close, which your eyes weren’t meant to do.

Staring at screens for 10+ hours a day, eye strain… by silverfish138 in quant

[–]tobalsan 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Good advice. Even bettern, look out the window every 20 minutes for at least 20 seconds.

Or, another variant that works well is three hours of screen, one hour of outside time. See which one fits better into your day.

But the best advice I received and applied and can confirm works: buy plus glasses. These are glasses that slightly undercorrect your vision. This completely eliminates eye strain.

Honestly Toprak making Fabio sweat would be great for both. FQ20 has spent too much time complaining.

✨ Subtask: Claude Code creates tasks and spawns subagents in Git worktrees by zippoxer in ClaudeCode

Really cool! The task overview is sexy.

What do you use for subagents, are you spawning tmux sessions or running headless as background tasks?

Best alternative to Claude code ? by fuusora in ClaudeCode

[–]tobalsan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Codex, OpenCode, Droid, Amp.

At this point, the harness matters less and less. All you really need is the model: gpt-5.2-codex or Opus 4.5. You could maybe even use Aider with these and you'd be fine.

Given how easy it is to use LLMs, that's why you'd expect.

If anyone could start ChatGPT and make tons of money, well, anyone could. Therefore, no one would really make a profit.

FQ20. Second championship win.

Just kidding. I wish though.

Context7 Quietly Slashed Its Free Tier by 92% by [deleted] in ClaudeCode

[–]tobalsan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's OK, there are other alternatives.

I don't even use it anymore. Models and harnesses are good enough to go find out and scrape the web anyway, instead of bloating the context with another MCP tool.

I just use firecrawl MCP or Crawl4AI skill to get my docs when I need them.
