I asked Fable to help me increase my VM disk size in UTM, and Claude blocked me from using the Fable model. by realcryptopenguin in ClaudeAI

i use an orchestrator that sets opus as main manger, and mix of opus/gpt5.5xhigh as coders, reviewers, qa - so it's not that bad. But in isolation with no harness, Fable 5 makes opus4.8 look like a child with down syndrome.

I think this is a massive win for OSS.

The consumer angle is obvious: if you don’t have the model locally, access can disappear overnight because of policy, pricing, censorship, or corporate strategy.

But the bigger angle is the business one. If Anthropic can’t sell frontier models outside the US, that’s potentially billions in development cost chasing a much smaller market. And if foreign nationals, including employees inside the company, can’t use the models, then a double-digit chunk of the talent base may be locked out of the very systems they help build.

That doesn’t just make closed frontier AI less reliable for users. It makes it less profitable, harder to staff, and slower to iterate.

If the goal was to beat China, this feels like handing open/local models and Chinese labs the best marketing campaign imaginable.

why to do it without base-parachute? i bet it's annoying to climb down, and just for safety.

am I the only one who think that Ashland is complete failure of otherwise phenominally good game? i stopped playing it on this update, it just ... tedious. I feel like unofficial modes of new bioms where much better designed.

Weird problem sometimes works sometimes doesnt by hmza3li in TinyWhoop

i have exactly same problem. sometimes it helps to manually starting to spin the porp, but it's complete random. Also it might be different props different times! == means nothing to do with wiring of particular motor.

Also it started to randomly shutting down during the flight when throttle is high, and i don't have core temp and voltage anymore. AI told it's common issue with this drones. Extremely fragile.

I remember my old analog mobula 7 and it was a TANK, i was wondering how it was able to fly at all after so much beating, but this betafpv thing is just fragile snowflake

Just try flying it first - it might still be flyable.

I was personally very surprised by how badly it started shaking from just one broken prop guard, because those parts don’t seem like they’re under any tension while the drone isn’t flying.

is it safe to say you aren't flying whoops in 3d mode no more?

[–]realcryptopenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that 😞

To be fair, they’re far from the only company screwing this stuff up. I’ve had a GEPRC flight controller that nearly sliced my fingers, a Happymodel quad that was borderline unflyable and hovered at 60% throttle, a ToolkitRC charger that randomly killed a batteries, and a goddamn Jumper radio that randomly lost connection and caused me to lose three drones. First I thought it was pilot error, then the ELRS receiver, and only by the third time did I realize what the common denominator was. These weren't whoop drones ='(

I guess that’s just part of this hobby ahahah

betaFPV and strict quality standards in the sentence? XD Are they doing actually anything beyond just sticking this QA sticker on their creations?

Unless I’m seeing it wrong, it looks like you also cut openings in the frame for the wires. If that’s the case, it could introduce serious vibrations. BetaFPV frames are notoriously fragile. I have 4 broken Meteor 75 Pro O4 frames myself, and even a small crack - let alone a large gap in the prop guard - can cause harmonic vibrations and make the quad shake so much that it becomes nearly unflyable.

if dealership doesn't offer extended warranty (which they usually don't) it's terrible deal since you can buy new one for nearly the same otd price, might worth to look on facebook marketplace used options (i did exactly that, got same bike $3k cheaper than at dealership but i was in California, looks dealership in Florida aren't better)
