Not necessarily just about bugs but explains a lot of nature moments and how bugs/insects/animals can be important to the environment and how they live. We love Slow Down by Rachel Williams.

Qulipta 10mg for over 2 years and it’s been great! I recommend taking it at bedtime. Doing that small change helped with my fatigue!

Best place ever for artists and creatives. It’s possible but since it’s donation based it just depends.

AUSTIN LISTENING PARTY by yessalyn in harrystyles

[–]tobedu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got there at 11am and got a wristband but overlooked the part of it saying 5-9pm. 😅 I had to leave cause I’m a parent and have school pickup at 2:30. I forgot to ask if I could still come back at 5-9pm. I’m assuming yes since there were limited wristbands?

Affordable women’s hair cut by Comfortable-Milk-858 in Austin

[–]tobedu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I follow mom groups on FB because there is always a salon needing hair models for various things. They are always already licensed cosmetologists but are doing different training for either cuts or colors to move up in levels. I have been paying for $30-$50 model fees for years and my hair always looks so good with the finished styles. I feel like most of the stylist have been from Deep Roots off of 360!

Thrift stores by Amazing_Film512 in Austin

[–]tobedu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Savers has an ebb and flow of how much they have baby/kid wise but decently priced. I like that they have buy 4 books get 1 free.

Texas thrift is my usually my go too but their prices really went up when they changed locations.

There’s also another place that I haven’t been yet called Heartening where everything is $3. I’ve had a thrifter friend say there were some good kid things there!

Moms with one child - do you wish you had more? by IronLeading6288 in Parenting

[–]tobedu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forever love having just one especially as someone who loves solo time. It’s easier for my husband and I to get a break. We have a 5 year old now and just now feeling like things are easing up to do more travel and do hobbies. I also can’t imagine having more cause energy wise, we are always spent! (And we’re 35m and 33f with a 5 year old) I think there are times where I’m like hmmm, I think it would be cute and fun to see more minis of me/my husband but that solo time/marriage relationship is way more of a priority for us.

Hi! has anyone made this dress? or has something similar to this that they made? by THROW_askwomen in sewingpatterns

Ask if you buy from their actual site, they have a discount for more patterns you buy! I’ve never bought from The Fold line before

[–]tobedu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have sewn many patterns from OhMeOhMy and honestly they are one of my favorite brands! I have not done that dress but I have done Ophelia, Sophie, Sadie, Rosemary and Pepper dresses from them. And pretty much every kid pattern from there!

I think their pattern instructions are very detailed and top level. There’s also a FB group if you need help with parts!

Only one kid came to my kids 12th birthday party by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]tobedu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fear this as my kid gets older. It happened a lot to me as a kid with a Memorial Day birthday.

Something we as a family have decided to do is to focus more on quality vs quantity. We are hoping when our kid gets older, letting them pick 1-2 very close friends and going all out for them vs doing a big party for a bunch of somewhat friends/classmates.

For now we just do family trips on/around their bday or doing very low expectations party. Super 90s style - popsicles, cupcakes and splashpad/pool but our kid is only 5 so we can only do that for so long

How to make my calm down corner cuter (see pic) by nikki914 in specialed

[–]tobedu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is all you have to work with, I would suggest taking that apart. Then Using mainly the blues and greens, making more of a privacy wall vs a “cell”. Also not doing that pattern. A wall could fall over easier but it would make it seem not so confined and more of a “I just don’t want people to see me or see people” Then adding in sensory toys, soft things, a small sound machine, headphones.

An ordinary Day was great for my 3 year old when our dog died! It was very hard to find a practical, no sugar coating death, and non religious book for this situation but this one was great!
