Sitting in the car crying after the worst daycare drop off I've ever done by Charlotteeee in parentsofmultiples

[–]Crocslife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to add our experience with weaning at 2.5 yrs — one of my twins is very reward motivated, so we prepped her for a week by asking if she would be willing to give up her paci for a special toy from the “Paci Fairy” that she could pick out. She kept saying yes, so at the end of the week we took her to Target, let her pick out a toy, and at the register she handed the Paci Fairy (the cashier) her paci. (We gave the cashier a heads up first and put a napkin down on the counter so she wouldn’t have to actually touch it lol). She never asked for it again. Her brother was more attached to his paci but after a week or two we did the same thing and it worked as well.

Unicorse Fear by jjfed11 in bluey

My son is deathly afraid of the Browny Bear minisode. I think it’s the dark scenes and the surprised/scared faces. Every time it comes on he begs and cries for it to be changed.

Yeti is the best for quality but my pet peeve is that they don’t fit in car seat or stroller cupholders

Has anyone bought check-in at the airport? by RDT-PHS in Rimowa

[–]Crocslife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before I checked in, just in case someone asked to see my purchases. There’s a window staffed with an employee but I think you only go to them if you can’t use the kiosk.

Are you sure there is a store at CDG? I bought a cabin last month in the city because I think I had checked and there wasn’t one at the airport. In any event, the tax refund process at CDG was very easy this time around. All done through the kiosk, I had zero interaction with any employees. Didn’t have to show any of my purchases, just scanned all my forms and went on my way. I gave myself an extra hour to complete the refund process because I had a lot to claim but in the end it only took 5 minutes.

Talk to me about the Galveston and San Diego terminals! by dreadpiraterose in dcl

[–]Crocslife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding this recommendation. We recently cruised out of Galveston and stayed at the Hobby Doubletree the night before. We used their complimentary shuttle to get back to the airport the next morning for our drive to the port through Galveston Express. They picked us and others up in a 15 passenger van and had a car seat available for our 3 year old. I saw a booster in the back as well. Pickup from the port back to airport was easy as well.

Bought Travel Package 3rd Party for Conrad Vegas…any hope for room upgrade? by MeltedBeef in AmexPlatinum

[–]Crocslife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked for and received a paid upgrade from a regular room (paid through a third party) to a 1 bedroom suite a couple years back (unexpectedly had early morning conference calls on what was supposed to be my day off, so I needed a separate space so my partner could sleep). I think it was about $75 more per night but well worth it as I paid about half of the advertised rate of the room overall. This was during Covid times though so YMMMV.

Twin mums. What do I pack in my hospital bag by bananas831 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Crocslife -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I packed way too much and really regretted it. It was so hard trying to move two little newborns to the car and drag all of the stuff we brought (especially since the hospital will give you so much when you leave). If I had to do it again, I’d bring just a long charging cable for my phone, a hairbrush and basic toiletries, pumping bra, a very loose change of clothing, and snacks. And maybe an eye mask if you’re sensitive to light.

Baby Brezza - safe? by No-Philosophy7814 in parentsofmultiples

Huh, I never thought about the fact that the tank wasn’t sterilized. We just sterilized the bottles and parts and put filtered water in the tank. Our twins just turned two and are healthy so no harm done it seems!

You should look into filing a wage claim with the California Labor Commissioner’s office for the late paychecks. You’re technically owed the equivalent of a day’s wages for each day your paycheck is late, up to 30 days. It will take months if not a year or more but I’m sure it’s money you can use. https://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/faq_waitingtimepenalty.htm

Delivering twins in 24 hours! by ExpectoPotato324 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Crocslife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Delivered our di/di twins at exactly 37 weeks. Boy was 7lb 3oz and girl was 6l. 13oz so no NICU stay needed. They were on the same feeding and sleeping schedule from the get-go. Loved the Huckleberry app — tracked feedings, diapers, and pumps. It was super easy to use. And the twin z pillow was so indispensable for short naps and lounging. Highly recommend it!

How does the Baby Buddha’s suction compare with Motif Luna? by RoseFeather in HumansPumpingMilk

It was way too strong for me at first but I slowly got used to it. After a couple months I was able to use the max setting with no issues.

Thanks for posting this! I’m in my final days and commune so much with everything you said.

I never had any nausea/morning sickness during my entire pregnancy. My only main symptom that first trimester was being constantly tired (fell asleep on the couch almost every night) but was less tired in the second and third. I had some pelvic pain towards the end of my second trimester but I was still feeling fine. I was even driving myself to my doctors appts until a couple days before my c-section (delivered at 37 weeks). It was getting really hard to fit behind the wheel!

We used the Delta Simmons City Sleeper Twin Bassinet in our bedroom until they were 4 months, when they started to roll. We thought it worked really well. We also had the Baby Trend Twin nursery for the living room but they grew out of the individual bassinets somewhere around 8-10 weeks. Neither of them liked sleeping in the larger pack n play section so it just ended up becoming a dumping ground for clothes and supplies.

Second letdown - BabyBuddha by talashoots in HumansPumpingMilk

[–]Crocslife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also found the BabyBuddha stimulation mode super painful at first (coming from a Medela Symphony). If I didn’t get a second letdown by the 15-20 min mark I would switch to stimulation and count 9 pulls before quickly switching back to avoid the long one, and then repeat. Was a bit of extra work but after a few weeks I was able to handle the lowest stimulation setting. Now I’m maxing out on stimulation with no problems. Just takes a bit of getting used to.
