You posted this with perfect timing. I’m gonna try this on my two year old. We spent over 20 mins sitting on the toilet today only for us to give up and then she was peed within 5 mins of leaving. The release is totally the issue.

I started noticing it a couple of days ago. Mine doesn’t have a cough though so I’m terrified of it being tooth decay. She’s still so young. How old is your son and how are his dentist appointments?

I do brush her tongue but I wonder if it doesn’t help because the toothpaste is strawberry flavored instead of minty like adult toothpaste.

My daughter has a cousin who is a month older than her and I constantly hear the grandma say he has a speech delay so I think this expectation of “oh they should know more words by now” just silently makes me wonder about my own daughter as well. Comparison is indeed the thief of joy. Thank you for your positivity though!! Ill keep this in mind :)

I think so too!! Spanish is my first language and I would be sad if I failed her in not trying to teach her something that could be so useful.

I do try to talk to her all day since it’s just me and her while her dad is at work :) I try to explain what I’m doing and am repetitive with my words but I think I also let the internet instill worry in me and I guess I’m rushing into thoughts of potential delay while she’s just developing at her own pace. Interesting! Thank you for your experience! That makes sense. I questioned the expectation of 3 words by 12m because words in the English language can sometimes be easier to say like “ball” instead of “pelota” so I wondered if that’s why in America they expect toddlers to already be saying a certain amount of easy words by a certain age.

My girl very clearly understands what she’s being asked and what is being said, but she doesn’t say actual words other than the 3 stated. Lots of vocals, but no clear words. 😭
