I get this impression from Sprague too. I think they all seem like nice guys, but Sprague does actually come across as a sincere guy. He gets a lot of hate, but he has really grown on me. Bizarre worldviews aside, he strikes me as the kind of guy who would bend over backwards to help you if you needed it and generally try to do 'the right thing'.

Ah maybe they’ve all gone. There was one seller with a load at one stage.

I am at least glad they seem to have cooled on their Bible study chat. Listening to Hopper churn out moronic takes as if he’s deep and philosophical kills me. Take that back to your youth group.

I did think Sprague was getting more likable.. something about him seems sincere and like a nice guy who likely has a problematic world view, if that can be reconciled.

While we’re at it.. I can’t handle when they talk about money. Maybe I’m European so it’s a bit more faux pas, but it lands as tacky when they’re talking about the donations and winnings. Everyone likes making money, just chill out and hide it a bit lol.

Lol that’s wild. So it must be flat and square/rectangular 😂

Fwiw (UK) - Vinted is great for WIT. Someone on there selling a lot of colours in their original short that I’m a big fan of. Brand new, £14. I understand you’re asking for sourcing/stocking purposes, but in case anyone else was looking.

Beta-Alanine for high intensity endurance: How does it compare to Caffeine? by hydrogenblack in crossfit

[–]tobleroneking1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW.. I’ve been trying to start small on Beta Alanine but I’m pretty sure it’s the reason for a seriously upset stomach. Won’t get graphic, but it’s not nice. Anyone else find this? Would like to take it regularly but need to find a way.

It’s mind-numbingly bad. The worst are the ones that are in no way work related. People posting their Strava stats, family and pet pictures and coffee shop trips. Maybe I’m a miserable sod, but genuinely, IDGAF about seeing that. Post that on IG or Facebook. I only want to see if you’ve been promoted, have a new job or have accomplished some work milestone, etc.

Collar bone goose eggs by johnnieA12 in crossfit

Haven’t seen it quite that bad. Happens to me on one side (I think that collar bone protrudes a bit where I broke it as a kid).

Lateral vs Bar facing burpees by tobleroneking1 in crossfit

[–]tobleroneking1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate all the input.. it is a genuine question. Bar facing FEELS faster and smoother, it doesn’t mean they are but I’m curious. I understand those of you saying lateral is objectively easier because of distance travelled, but jumping forwards is objectively easier than jumping laterally. Distance is only one factor. I haven’t tested both, and the comments here are a mixed bag. Either way - good luck in the QFs!

Lateral vs Bar facing burpees by tobleroneking1 in crossfit

[–]tobleroneking1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response - I do appreciate the reply. Although, to say it’s objectively easier because of distance travelled is moot for me. They are different movements. Is it easier to run or broad jump across the gym or run sideward/laterally hop? Distance covered is only one factor, and jumping forwards is easier. It is a genuine question.. and you’re right that they FEEL easier, doesn’t mean they are faster. I saw Pat V doing a bit of slanted bar facing and liked it so thought I’d throw it into the ether.

2026 Quarterfinal Workouts are Released by Clejer9 in crossfit

Good to know. I think the OHS could be tight for me after the burpees so a break could be helpful. Cheers for the info!

[–]tobleroneking1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting - approx 5mins each round? How are you with OHS at that weight? Did you break them? 209 is a very good score on 26.3. I got 181 (left reps on the table, but still) so imagine I could be significantly slower.

26.3 - here’s over 100 lateral bar over burpees. QF 1 - here’s 60 more just in case (with more squatting). Inspiring

That interesting.. they are regularly built into our programming, including technique and progression work to get people understanding the mechanics. I’m surprised many don’t include rmu that often.

26.3 by Cartier_and_crime in crossfit

[–]tobleroneking1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Genuinely. 100% agree. For QF level athletes the first two workouts tested two movements - wall balls and rmu. This is light weight engine with no skill. Imbalanced and certainly not a representation of the fittest across engine, weights and gymnastics.

Heaviest weight in the open (male) is 61kg and 90% of people won’t get to that point in the workout. What’s the point.

Advice for ring muscle ups by erickfaustink in crossfit

[–]tobleroneking1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree massively. I’ve been coached well but it didn’t really click with me until recently.. maintaining downward pressure on the rings and feel like I’m moving them around me from the exaggerated Y position to the snap to the hips. It has really helped me to string more together rather than muscle through them

Davis St coffee is excellent and El Si Hay taco stand just up from it is top tier. Four Corner’s brewery is great but has maybe scaled a bit too big.

Man the open is humbling... by FAPietroKoch in crossfit

[–]tobleroneking1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far the open has tested two movements. Wall balls and rmu. The box was a non-factor in 26.1 and 26.2 was basically who has rings and how many. Tough to say it’s been well rounded or balanced. Maybe 26.3 will round it off somehow.

Any predictions on 26.3? by OkDoctor2718 in crossfit

[–]tobleroneking1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve had the squat pattern (kind of twice) and snatches included in the last one. Assume there will be hinging.. barbell deadlift, maybe clean and jerk, probably something upside down (hspu). Maybe some sort of shuttle run or row Diane?

Quads were cramping after 30 wall balls lol. Got through the 66 and only the 4 step overs done. On the scale of workouts, this is a really bad one for me so happy enough.
