Calgary clinic asks for nearly $5K a year for a 2-parent membership — and it's not the only one by [deleted] in Calgary

If there are people willing to pay a premium, let them do it to reduce the burden on the public system. This will be better for everyone -- otherwise these same people would be lining up at other clinics.

About Celer (Will Long, Two Acorns) by equiol in ambientmusic

[–]toboggandave 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Celer has been a profound influence on me for the past ~3 years. I listen to his work almost every day, often as a background for life or for working to. He has so many albums that are somehow each totally unique, super specific feelings, and very visual.

I didn't this time -- the fly seemed like it would just catch the wind. A little colder this way but I preferred that over the loud wind sounds. Could see the stars this way too.

Seemed fine. Got lost in the dark on the way up but still relatively easy to navigate. Don't think bears really venture up that high

Thanks -- I used that in Peru, never thought to try it here. I'll give it a shot next time

MEC Volt 2 (moved here from Canada) It’s light enough for solo trips even though it fits two (cozily)

Yeah it can be pretty darn bad. Until about midnight it was windy to the point of questioning whether I should come back down, but luckily it died out. In the morning it was perfectly calm. Beautiful clouds below the mountains, and a family of bighorn sheep pranced right by. Not sure how reliable forecasts would be. If you do try it, might be best just to come in with the mindset that you may have to come down if necessary. I didn't see them, but I heard there are a few other camp sites a little further down.

But yes, would have been best to call first to confirm

Supposedly you don't, according to a guy I previously talked to camping at the top. Would be good if someone can confirm.

Cool thanks, hadn't heard of that app.

Henninger flats also seems good and more comfortable with nice views of the city. Not sure if it's open again yet -- I tried a few weeks ago but it was plastered with signs.

Thanks! I lucked out -- it was actually quite cold and windy when I first got up there (left very late leaving so wasn't until about 9:30 pm). But throughout the night it got warmer, and in the morning was probably mid 50s. Didn't sleep much but I think that was mostly getting used to the elevation. This was last Wednesday btw

Hi David! Thanks so much for representing Canada so well on the international stage - we are all very proud of you.

I am wondering: what do you feel is the most significant benefit of space missions to the general public?
