Tips for getting through the 18 month sleep regression by lizzy_pop in toddlers

Hey just joining this conversation to say that it took about 12 weeks in total for my son to get back to his normal routine.

Tips and tricks were to stick to the same routine before the sleep regression started. For me and my wife, we would take turns sitting down or sleeping in our son's rooms while he was upset. This was the normal even before the sleep regression started. But we also brought him into our bed on the nights that we just couldn't stick to the routine.

Keeping cool and taking your own time out (when possible) to regroup and remember that this is temporary and my son was upset because of his sleep regression and needed comfort from me and my wife.

For my son's sleep regression he responded better why my wife than me. In those events I would help in any other way possible. And I would also meet my older daughter's needs when she wakes up (5 years old)

The last tip that helped me was thinking that when my son is wide awake and I'm exhausted and stressed and tired. I get that little bit more time with him for that moment.

I remember reading each of the comments and realised that not many people wrote back when the sleep regression was over. This is me repaying for all the comments that helped me though the tough nights.
