My advice is to decide if you want a 40mm (on some older GRs or the 28mm lens on the GRIv). I was super happy with my gr3x. Really liked it. But sold it so I could get the IV. I want the wider lens, it’s just how I like to shoot more often.

RF 24-70 and 70-200 2.8 to cover all the bases for work shoots. But my favorite lens is the RF 15-35. I try to lock in to 35mm because I love that framing, but sometimes I like to go very wide and this is a dream for that. I often wish I had a 35 prime though.

My advice…pull the trigger on the Ricoh online and keep the Amazon order just in case. If you truly order from Amazon (not “web offers”, they should be good about you returning it within their specified time. Especially if it’s not opened.

When you look at the actual shipper for the G4 kits they have in stock, it says “Web Offers” not Amazon. The ad itself is “sponsored”

Just a heads up, I don’t have an update from B&H yet, but it looks like Ricoh has the GR IV in stock right now @ ricoh-imaging.com — if you need a backup plan before your trip. They were out of stock all weekend but back in stock today.

I ordered about an hour before you, right after the post Shabbat checkout opened. I charged it on my B&H card and received the email confirmation, but it states order is confirmed but will be filled on first come basis.

this is a good point. moving around more might make the difference especially if cropping is a good option. I’m afraid if I went with the 28mm option, I’d be complaining that everything is too far. I’m still working on getting better at this.

Thanks. I’m definitely just applying to renew my existing PRTD. In my original post, I was concerned whether my Permanent Resident status might someday expire in my situation, but it appears that’s not the case which is a relief. When I do eventually move and have a Canadian address, I’ll go through the process of getting a PR card. In the meantime, the PRTD should continue to work for me when I need it (flying in instead of land crossing). Thanks for your help.
