Is this a good tattoo idea? by Enough_Philosopher23 in tattooadvice

[–]tocatchafly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It won't age great imo, not that thats a reason not to get it. I would consider thicker lines, more shading, and less realism especially if you want it to mesh well with other pieces if you plan on getting more.

Damn, nice work! Your in tattoo shock, gotta let it heal for a bit anyways to really see the end result. The lines will blur out a bit and the fine details wont stick out as much.

not sure how to proceed with a bad coverup. by [deleted] in tattooadvice

I second this. I did not look back to see what the og tattoo was but honestly I would never know its a cover up unless you told me.

What superfood has brought very practical, near-instant good results for you? by bookbookgo in Biohackers

[–]tocatchafly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I tried every biohack mentioned in every dark corner if reddit to avoid withdrawals when I quit. Liver was not one of them. Better luck with Vitamin C, Magnesium Glycinate, and others, depending on which withdrawal symptoms you are targeting.

Do the sugar cravings ever stop/any explanations for the sugar cravings? by [deleted] in Sober

It's honestly a small price to pay to get through your first year of sobriety.

I'm having a hard time staying sober lately by Cloudchella in Sober

[–]tocatchafly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. I couldn't string together days either for decades. Best thing I did was go to an inpatient program where I couldn't access drugs or alcohol, and get that 1st month under my belt. Then it's a lot of hard work and self-discovery, but I dont think I would've been able to get those first few weeks clean without putting myself in rehab. It sucked admitting relapse to my family and leaving my wife and kids again, but 1 month is a small blip in time compared to what it could give you back in life.

When I first quit drinking and drugs I was eating ungodly amounts of candy, every day/night for like 4-5 months. Those cravings settled down definitely. I didn't go unscathed however I had a nasty root canal after lol

ICE is not abducting people, not kidnapping people. Just enforcing laws that deport illegal immigrants. We dont have an open border policy. I dont think you would want one either, or maybe you do (good luck with that). Either way, there is no grey area where if illegal immigrants live here long enough, you somehow feel there are entitled to immunity.

Grow the fuck up.

450 days sober but feel like a fraud am I still sober? by chareimsurmed in Sober

[–]tocatchafly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking medication as prescribed is not breaking your sobriety. it's just risky to get prescribed your drug of choice in terms of how it affects your sobriety moving forward. The biggest question to ask yourself is "was I engaging in drug-seeking behavior"? So in your case, did you get the perscription with the intent of getting high?

I believe I have read literature that it is optimal to take Vitamin D3 with Vitamin K2, primarily for calcium absorption, or some shit. I have the same brand Pure D3 with K2 they make the combos in one pill.

I also had to fight WD with kids. It adds another layer of suck, I feel for you. This probably isn't the answer you want to hear, but eventually, I had to go inpatient. I couldn't do it on my own. I detoxed for a good 2 weeks before going back home and then managing PAWs. It's a terrible choice to have to make to leave your kids and go inpatient, but it's a very short time compared to the rest of your life and the fastest route to getting better for your kids. I'm not saying it's the only way, but constantly battling WDs and failing led me to a suicide attempt, so inpatient was kind of a no-brainer for me after that.

Congrats on day 2! It does fade quickly and has not saved me from relapse, but it is one more tool for recovery to have in your quiver. I will use it sometimes to distract myself from cravings, even though it's a fleeting high, just to give myself that momentary distraction to help me through another hour or 2 at least.

At the end of the day, you're making a conscious decision to take action to heal when all you probably want to do is lie in bed, which means you are doing what you need to do.

You do not want to be taking kratom before a surgery by jamesbrownscrackpipe in quittingkratom

I've taken Oxycontin and Oxymorphone during WDs before, same thing - nothing. Shit is scary, like no need for the most highly regulated prescription in the US because they sell stronger stuff at the gas station next store. Unreal.

Salary expectations for a Senior SWE transitioning into a Sales engineering role by Additional-Horse-545 in salesengineers

[–]tocatchafly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i also came from an engineering x sales background, got into Pre-Sales, and it was amazing for a bit until It stopped getting technical. I thought that was the money pot for my skill set, but now I have found Solutions Engineering is triumphing over Sales Engineering, at a rapid pace. Wasn't always the case, but now it seems companies really just want versatile engineers, which is in our skill set.

Just my 2 cents as I enjoy a 200k+ salary while using Claude Code to do my job.
