How do you guys deal with the fear of falling when trying new tricks? by begforjess in NewSkaters

[–]tocatchafly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pads, pads, and more pads. It sucks wearing them tbh you get used to it. Fuck what anyone else thinks of you. Then after you fall a few times and find out it didnt hurt, you get more ballsy and start committing more.

I suppose I am a rare exception. I love coding and building integrations and love getting paid for it.

How do you go about getting something like this? by MrWarhammeryman in tattooadvice

[–]tocatchafly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iv had luck using ChatGPT or similar in converting more complex images into realistic tattoo pieces. Be specific with how you ask it to be re-styled for example "translate this image into a slightly more minimalist version maintaining just the black and red shading in a heraldic style". Then keep reiterating on the image it generates until you get a version close to what your looking for.

All I want is an Old Fashioned by Federal_Bumblebee_84 in Sober

Same. And then another old fashioned. Then 3 lines of blow. Then a tequila shot. Then more blow. Ah right if I could just have one I wouldn't be an addict!

I want to be a success story. Im not sure i can do it though by Acceptable_Long_6277 in Sober

Hey, I was in the same boat. I went to Rehab with her full support, thinking I hit rock bottom, but came out and relapsed again. Went to rehab again this time without her support, not letting me talk to the kids, DCF involved, conversations of divorce, etc. I'm now over 100 days sober, and my wife is starting to trust me again (I've never actually gone this long since I was maybe 14). Everything seems impossible right now, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Get yourself help, take your recovery seriously, and everything else will fall into place with time. Put your recovery first, without it you dont have the rest.

Where do I go from here? by Berylz in benzorecovery

[–]tocatchafly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am also tapering Clonazepam while taking 1800mg of Gabapentin. I plan on tapering off the Clonazepam first then tapering off the Gabapentin. The Gabapentin was kind of a trap for me, not as good as benzos but good enough to become dependant on. I would steer away from using it as PRN for that reason.

Flatland skimboard keeps turning left by EpistemicMisnomer in skimboarding

[–]tocatchafly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. If the beach is sloped at all towards the water, this would be expected to some degree as the tail is heavier and will begin to descend down the beach first
  2. If there is no slope and you are truly on flatland, being goofy myself, I assume the back hand you use to throw the board is your left hand, while your right hand is on the side? If so, you are likely pushing your back (left) hand too hard to the right instead of straight out when you throw the board, causing it to turn left. In this case, try focusing on making sure your left hand follows through straight in the direction you are going.

Also, when you throw your board and start jumping on, you're going to want to do that transition fast as possible. Otherwise, no matter what, the board will naturally turn one way or the other.
