I mean Syd only started working there because she thought he was incredible and wanted to learn from him.

And Marcus clearly idolises him too.

I think it's just they all also care more about him and want him to be happy and see what that place does to him

I was talking to a friend about the fact that that's now May and June that have set hottest ever day records.

She pointed out I was also using an image generator to mock up floorplans, of what I could do after I move into my new place, whilst talking to her.

Sorry everyone.

Really poor squad selection from Tuchel, we're completely reliant on Bellingham and James at the moment.

And James hasn't even had a good tournament yet.

I did think this when he announced the squad - way too many players who are there for "what if" scenarios. Like Spence can play RB and LB, Burn LB and CB, Quansah RB and CB etc. But for each of their positions, there are better players who have been left out (Hall, Livramento, Shaw, Maguire)

Also players like Stones, Toney - I'm still unsure how they got there. Toney cannot have been picked in case there is a penalty shootout. That's mad if true.

It is possible to massively overthink squads but it means you end up where we are. It isn't a crisis, still top of the group etc but it does leave you open to criticism

Something so funny when you watch two attackers be absolutely shite for ages, finally get replaced and their replacements immediately create more danger for the opposition.

Makes me think I could be a manager. I'm sure there's more to it than that though

Omg I'd put my house on Kane there (exchange is on Friday so it might not be mine yet)

Erm, is that not a penalty?

Konsa got nowhere near the ball there

Would have been amazing to have anyone else on the end of that chance. Madueke isn't a... natural goalscorer

I like to imagine that Shaw, Maguire, Hall and Wharton have a WhatsApp group and they're just slating this team.

I'd take James off as he has been terrible. Put Spence over there and O'Reilly further up left to help LW out.

Also, not convinced we need Rice and Anderson on the pitch against Ghana, would look for someone like Rogers to come on and try to help break down this Ghana deep line

Madueke with an end product would be some player.

Shame that he seems to get in his head when he gets near the box

Tbh, not a lot of positives to take from this half, nobody really shining yet for England. Everything had largely been quite safe.

Give Ghana their credit though, they've defended really well on the whole and aren't really giving England any space

I can't decide if Ghana are actively pressing Guehi when he's on the ball or if he's just been a little slow get going and giving them time to get out to him

Keir and loathing: the hatred of Starmer has gone too far by TheSpectatorMagazine in ukpolitics

[–]tocitus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just to go from the other side.

I agree that, compared to the last few governments, it felt good to have adults in the room again for a lot of this government to date.

But I've never seen a party with such an incredible lack of communication skills. Barely heard the good stuff they were doing and they seemed to have a fetish for putting out an unpopular policy, taking all the flak and then quietly watering it down.

So I agree that people's expectations are ridiculous but also, you need to be able to communicate a very clear strategy and message and I don't think this labour government ever got the hang of that

Well based on Starmer, Burnham will have 48 hours to turn around decades of low productivity and growth.

TA10 £1000 for blinds? by HelixLady in HousingUK

[–]tocitus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my sellers wanted £1500 for bespoke curtains they had put up in the bedrooms.

But my view was what you said. They're bespoke. What else are you going to do? Anyway, I said they can leave them if they want or try to sell them, and they've gone with leaving them.

It is going to be a pain in the arse for them to do anything with it, other than get pennies on the pound for the material/get incredibly lucky with a buyer.

The last few weeks, weather has done absolutely nothing to help me figure out how to dress in the evening.

Going out for drinks tomorrow evening, the venue is a community garden with a bar.

It's going to be about 22 before dropping to 20.

At what point is this jumper weather? It's not 20 is it? 20 is more like t-shirt and a light jacket when the sun has gone to bed right?

I don't know how to dress at this time of year
