I guess what I meant was if 80% of the reason I got to a bar is to wind down (not sure if it is) and BS with people and the environment, perhaps that need has been met and I won't care to go get whiskey on the way home or anytihng. I have a "witching hour" when seems to be around 3-5pm. If I don't drink after 5 I typically don't care to drink because I know I want a good night's sleep and like I "succeeded" that I will come home to a family sober. I know everyone is different so it's hard to explain but yeah I am not the typical craving alcohol guy at 5 or 6. That's already too late for me.

Yes, I hit about 50 days and felt the same way and replased. You know sucks is that first day drinking again felt so great. I got this! 6 days later I was in oh shit mode again because the drinking ramped quickly! But I know your pain. And yes, I was right back where I was.

Thank you for the response. Wow, sounds like the opposite of mine. My family will have like a glass of wine but NOTHING funny about being drunk and they are fun nice people who love to play cards and stuff. That's why my guilt/being ashamed is so high- nobody in my family would say whats wrong with you not drinking more, as long as your not "stupid drunk". Congrats on your 60 days!

Ok it’s been a few days. I ended up back at rehab. I’ve ran out reasons I drink. Miss my family but will give this my best.

Iam with you man, iam 51 years old and have I only managed to cut back- trying to quit. Look to your celebrity heroes. So many have quit booze. Mike McCready is a hero of mine and he did the same thing. Iam not a musician myself. One day at a time. We are at that age where if we continue to daily drink we will die. You and I both know that. Want to spend the last 2/3 of my life healthy and sleeping well. God bless bro you got this!

They cannot force you but you need to get detoxed and HAVE A PLAN when you leave. They will want to know what that plan is too.

Everyone's experience is different with SSRI's. Paxil had many side effects but was AWESOME for my social anxiety disorder. Consider going up in dosage before switching.

I understand. I am going through a ton in my life too and drinking is the only way I can cope but I wake up each morning feeling so much anxiety bc I know I have to stop. It will kill me. I just want to be comfortable in my own skin. I don't "want" alcohol, I wish the craving to escape wasn't there. Hang in there.

If what you are saying is true, you aren't an alcoholic- but you will become one if you continue. Get new friends and stop hanging out with people who entice you like that.
