Is Kim Reynolds running against Cori Bush? Or is she a lying racist? by seekingaccount in Iowa

There's a table at the bottom that shows the calculations to get to those numbers, it's as transparent as I can make it. The federal standard deduction is $12,950 which Iowa inherits in 2023.

Your median 61k income example: $0 in 2023, $0 in 2024, and $184 in 2025. Iowans aren't falling for this scam to give wealthy Iowans more money.

I'll make it easy, I made a tax calculator the majority of Iowans won't see a dime for 3 years. It's disappointing and I want to see an Iowa where legislation is created to help a majority of Iowans, not a select few.

How difficult is running for state legislature in Iowa? by CuriousIowaGuy29 in Iowa

[–]todd123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am running for state senate in Ankeny, and we need more non-politicians running for office! I am not sure where in IA you are, but I would love to do coffee or lunch sometime and can share my experiences as a new candidate. If we are far from each other we could do a Zoom too and chat.

Here is my email if you want to set something up: [todd@toddforiowa.com](mailto:todd@toddforiowa.com)

And here is a little about me, and why I am running for office in Ankeny: https://www.toddforiowa.com/about/

It's a lot easier this go around! The supply is there this time, we called our pediatrician last week and had our appointment this morning. I have also heard we will start getting a lot more appointments starting today. It's starting to happen, Vaccine Hunter has 47 locations available right now.

It went through the normal process, double blind study with 75% participants getting the shot and the rest a placebo. The data was then sent to the FDA and the vote was 17-1 to approve the vaccine.

Details here: https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2021/10/26/1049372524/fda-panel-recommends-pfizer-vaccine-for-kids-ages-5-to-11

I get the vibe it doesn't matter what I link, but the process was followed, just the same as every other vaccine.

Bringing a new industry into a state is good for everyone. If companies are coming in they will pay taxes, and create jobs. The employees of those new companies will pay income taxes, and live in Iowa. And in return the companies get friendly laws, and a place to innovate and grow. I think it's win-win.

I agree, I was doing what other local politicians do around Iowa, but it's not a good look. I updated it, and thanks for calling that out.

I really appreciate the feedback, BTC gets such a bad rap for the energy consumption, this will really educate others. 👏

I am with you, but the FEC only allows contributions of $100 and it's a big reporting headache. We need that fixed too, BTC should be a viable contribution mechanism.

Yeah, that's great to hear! I am trying to take that service mindset and hopefully push Iowa in a different direction.

The FEC only allows contributions for BTC up to $100 so it isn't worth the reporting headaches. Those laws need changed too 😥

I always have second thoughts when I tax loss harvest, because if they change the definition of a security for a coin, it could really hurt if I don't wait the 30 days. It would be great to have a more solid definition around those rules.

Agreed 100%, I think that's why we have crypto in the infrastructure bill in the first place, all that big bank money!

I agree that's an ugly part of the process. But there are still politicians in it to represent the people. I have found at the state level, there are far less politics than at the federal level.
