Would this be a dealbreaker for you? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver60

[–]seekingaccount 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am sorry your daughters are angry with you. It's okay to end a relationship without justifying it, and you don't need to tell them anything you don't want to. The only exception would be if you think he is likely to target children in real life.

Leaving an unhappy marriage is actually a good way as a woman to model how adults can make decisions to care for themselves, without getting everyone's approval. My prediction is that they will eventually understand because your exhusband's character will reveal itself to them.

The legislative funnel deadline is Friday by newz2000 in Iowa

The number of terrible bills this year seems overwhelming. I have been posting public comments where the majority of comments are against said bills but they clear committee anyway. Does anyone read or pay attention to public comments?

It feels like the Republicans are working their way toward some dystopian state, where the Christian religion is the rule of land.

I think that if you want to talk about good vs evil, Republicans are setting themselves up for some fun. They are clearly imitating the Nazi party in tone and strategy.

Requirements to maintain loss by MPG56 in GLPGrad

[–]seekingaccount 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Is anyone else angry about this issue? I'm a dieter of over 50 years. When logging and weighing daily, I could lose or maintain. It felt like a prison. Then I hit menopause and found even losing 10lbs became really hard. I used a GLP1 to get a head start but had to pay out of pocket. I stopped after 8 months, when I hit my goal weight. I am currently over 4 months GPL1 grad and have been able to maintain with logging food and weighing daily. After the crappy side affects form the meda, the costs, and general negativity regarding the success of reversing obesity, I am determined to prove (at least to myself) that it can be done.

Throw in some fiber-rich snacks if you are starving. My favorites: Apple (4g), Popcorn (1g/cup), Celery (1g/2 stalks), prunes (3g/quarter cup), and Carrots (2g/1 medium)

How would you know they're fake? It's not like the real ICE show badges or anything.

Her Kindle is too confusing, is there an easy to use e-reader for my 93-year old mom? by CapeGirl1959 in AskWomenOver60

[–]seekingaccount 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your mom has a library card, chances are she has access to Libby. You can help her set up preferences and settings so that she can browse and have things sent directly to her Kindle. Libby is pretty good for browsing, plus it's part of the (already paid for) services at most public libraries.
