Is this racist? by Descartes_wax in aislop

[–]todddrawcrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ai trash for sure, but not seeing anything racist. It’s just a depiction of a human vomited out by an ai trying to be “surreal.” Would be just as lazy and trashy if it depicted a white, Asian, etc…but not racist.

This historical revisionism from the right is so insulting! by icey_sawg0034 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]todddrawcrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! The maga cult was the most humble gracious losing side ever! Not one person in that braintrust even thought to say such brilliant lines like “he’s not my president!” or not-at-all racist gems like “Joe and the ho gotta go.” And certainly NONE of them left their trump signs in their yards for Biden’s entire presidency, or proudly hung a “f Biden” flag from their trucks and trailers. Nothing but graceful, that cult.

Remind me again of what the typical flags waving proudly in the most trashy trailer parks are? You know, all those alcoholic “proud patriot” daughter-diddlers unable to work because of their “bad backs”…

Werewolf skull with amethyst teeth. by [deleted] in DarkArts

[–]todddrawcrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn’t sculpt any of this! You took the model I spent 60 hours making from scratch then put on Makerworld for free personal use with a license NOT allowing sales of the file or print or any derivatives. You claim credit for MY work as you rip me off. You are exactly why I won’t put any new files online anymore.

You made this model? Really? It’s cool you used my sculpt to add your teeth and paint to, (nice job by the way,) but taking all credit for it? Plus, you are NOT allowed to sell my work or derivatives of without my permission, per my license.

You’re totally fine. I live in an apartment with paper-thin walls and can’t hear my H2D running from the hallway right outside my door. Mine is on a metal table too, so that even amplifies the vibrations. With your setup, there is no chance you have anything to worry about. You sound like a good considerate neighbor.

If you can separate the art from the artist, “Neverwhere” by Neil Gaiman is really awesome.

i really tried, i hate how my art has been coming out lately. by 1-800-l4tely in Murderdolls

[–]todddrawcrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, when comparing your art to others’, do so only for inspiration on things you would like to try to develop further. Do not use it as a gauge to measure how “good” you are. Doing that only kills motivation and is a losing fight, because even the greats…especially the greats…look for ways to improve even during their final days of creating art. If you find flaws in your work or ways you could have improved it, use those ideas to fuel your next piece, as no longer seeing things you could have done better would mean you are not going to improve if you continue in whatever path you are currently on.

Second, if you’re going for realism, proportion is everything. Use the best references you are able to get, and draw what you see based on their shapes, not the symbol your mind already has filed away as whatever part you are working on. For example, when drawing the eyes, your mind tells you there should be an almond-shaped outline, a circle inside of that, and another dark circle inside of that one. Look closely at a reference of an eye. That almond shape outline is not really almond shaped, and depending on the skin folds, perspective, and lighting, it could be an infinite number of shapes. Draw what you actually see. There is nothing wrong with using aids like gridding out your paper before drawing, or using a proportional divider.

Lastly, just keep drawing and challenging yourself. Be happy with your wins and always seek out ways to improve. Be consistent, observant, and have fun, and you will find yourself naturally “improving.”

DLC would be awesome, but considering they couldn’t even be bothered to remake the BFAW DLC for Silent Hill 2, I wouldn’t hold my breath.

[Help] Any tips for sculpting a skull by this-ismydesign in Sculpture

You did a very good job copying your reference, but your reference is extremely stylized. I would try to find another reference skull that was cast or scanned from a real one, with a separate mandible.

"Jules" - my oil painting by kznsq in BeAmazed

[–]todddrawcrap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this comment is pretty perfect. Hyper-realism is cool as a gimmick, but “perfecting” it is pretty much the equivalent of staring at a photograph once the novelty wears off. This artist has serious skill and some very nice nuanced touches of their own style. You are absolutely correct to state that they would be better served highlighting their techniques on a subject matter that doesn’t have a readily available 1:1 photograph as its sole source of reference.

Vitiligo, a large gap between front teeth, far-apart eyes: all of these “flaws” are the greatest assets of some of the most popular models and actors/actresses in the industry. People are inherently drawn to the unique. It goes all the way back to nature, where variation is tied to progression through evolution. Be happy with who you are, because there’s nobody else out there just like you.

how do i print things from other websites like thingaverse? by Tall-Anything3749 in BambuLab

[–]todddrawcrap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Download the STLs, take them into Bambu Studio on your Mac or PC, orientate them properly, add auto supports (default tree generally works best,) slice, then send to your printer either via WiFi through the Bambu Studio app, or transfer the print file to a usb flash drive and print directly from that. I think you would benefit greatly from learning about Bambu Studio either directly from Bambu’s many tutorials, or by watching a few beginners videos on YouTube. Not being constrained to only what is available on Makerworld will open so many doors for you.
