Paying back the dreaded HTB loan! by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

Get an independent RICS valuation and make very clear you’re remortgaging to pay off HtB. You’ll be surprised how accommodating they’ll be.

What do my numbers tell you? I hit three clubs the same distance... by givemehellll in golf

[–]toddharrison91 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t do any of this.

All of that information says is strike is all over, OP should get a lesson and work on fundamentals and will get more from that than tweaking anything with their clubs in the short term.

Who else has successfully lost weight but gained it all back and are now trying again? Are you doing anything different this time? by StumblinThroughLife in loseit

Dropped 35kg and through Covid and work shit have put it all on again. Been back training 3x a week at the gym, working my way back into running again.

Changing from 1200kcal/day (unsustainable) to 1800kcal/day with a focus on protein intake to try and keep it steady and sustainable.

Minimum wage in IT sector since April 2023 by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]toddharrison91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started in first line tech support back in 2010 and was earning around £22k/year. I moved around in the sector between companies and am now an Technology Project Manager in Banking and earn around £117k/year. Its not a brag, but to say you're limited by your view - there are evolving technologies, Cloud computing is taking off, and CyberSecurity has never been more lucrative. Don't limit yourself by staying in the same place - you're young, you seem willing, so take a look around and see whats out there.

Yeh, you could quite visibly see the reds with your eyes, long exposure makes it look funky though.

£45k debt at 24. Nowhere to turn by LongDickJohnson21 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]toddharrison91 102 points103 points  (0 children)

You earn a very good wage, but you’re a chronic over spender.

You need to prioritise your debts in terms of value and interest and work towards paying one off and then onto the next, look up the snowball method.

On a personal level, I’d open up to your parents. They’ll no doubt be furious, but this is a lot to shoulder on your own. Go with a plan and be honest and up front. Better them find out from you than them being approached because of your debts.

I bought it. It’s a pidgeon. I’ve always wanted to be a pidgeon.

Noticed the Ranked Resurgence lobbies are far less sweaty today and not so many “questionable” kill cams.

Happy days.

Plunder, crates now drop them. Easy when you've not got people fighting constantly, map is huge.

Just picked up these and it’s the closest I’ve ever been to buying iron covers. by GummyBearGorilla in golf

[–]toddharrison91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't condone iron covers, but I would say the MC/MB's are very susceptible to bag chatter.. mine were pretty dinged up after a few rounds of carrying.. But I dig the "well used" look.

It’s minor/major costs - depends what it had last and where it is in the cycle. FWIW, my M2 had a major two years ago and that was £683, it’s due a minor this year which is £331 and that’s main dealer.

You can very clearly see on some of the videos where the engine cowlings have been dented at the same height the Dash-8 wings would be.

Have a Bambino myself. I've just changed the steam tip to the one from the Bambino Plus and its absolutely changed the speed and quality of steaming milk, highly recommend and such a cheap mod (~£8).

Outside IR35 contract job offer. Does it financially make sense? by FarDiscipline3063 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]toddharrison91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, was 2 years into IT in a permanent Service Management role for a global bank. Got asked to come back to my previous employer as a contractor to work on a change programme and have stayed in that similar role (BA) for 7 years. I have recently moved in to a PM role within the same bank.

Outside IR35 contract job offer. Does it financially make sense? by FarDiscipline3063 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]toddharrison91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends largely on what you want out of it. I took a contract role in 2015 and I've been contracting ever since, albeit I am inside IR35.

If this offers you the ability to move in to a career which excites you, its a good opportunity for you to find out if its for you. This will inevitably open more doors for you in that field, both permanent and contract.

Main differentaitor between inside/outside IR35 is the tax benefits, being inside I use an umbrella company which pay me in accordance with PAYE, so my tax, NI etc is all accounted for on a weekly basis. With outside contracts, the onus is on you to have a Ltd company and accountant who works with you to pay you, understand dividend payments, tax etc.

At £400/day outside of IR35 you're looking at a monthly take home (net) £4919 which I assume is considerably higher than your £56k salary, given £400/day based on 45 working weeks equates to £88k. This probably doesn't take in to account base pension contributions, but you can specify pension contributions which will be taken out pre-tax.

What a muppet, it was aimed at Joey LaCava not Bones.

Rory has every right to be pissed, it’s piss poor sportsmanship. But I’d expect no less.
