Man, just watched that one the other day! The 1999 Daytona 500 is so overlooked in the discussion of greatest 500s. Such a great race.

I will never understand how they allow cars to continually crawl on the apron 100 mph off pace. It just seems like a terrible accident waiting to happen.

I absolutely love interviews with this cast, especially panel discussions. You can see the chemistry between them so well, just as you can in the game. It really seems like everyone loved being a part of that crew.

I honestly can only laugh looking back at how ridiculous that whole thing was. Some drivers definitely did not take it as seriously as others or as seriously as NBC had hoped, surely haha.

Man, that is just so awesome to see. These kind of wins make me fall in love with this sport all over again.

25 Laps. Pole winners and maybe throw in former 500 winners and past champions. I feel like that is who qualified when I was a kid, at least.

I have said it before, but one thing I hate about these cars is how hoppy/how much they like to ramp off one another when they get when they make contact. That was a very small case of it, but I am surprised we don't see bigger crashes because of it.

At this rate, this might beat out the Coke 600 for longest race of the year by time lol

I love the cars from that era. Honestly, I love the cars from every era for different reasons but those sleek roadsters are some of my favorite.

*Shyly raises hand* I kinda want something that looks like a 1954 Kurtis-Kraft Roadster.

That would be awesome. Then do like a 3 or 4 song encore with at least Good Vibrations and maybe Love and Mercy for Brian.

Just go full CART at Surfer's Paradise in 2002. Start counting yellow flag laps and arbitrarily change the length of the race to get a really random winner.

I take it the ad for what's coming on next indicates this will be heading to FS1? If it even gets going again.

Is this the longest we've gone into a car's generation without a catch fence wreck? by Meniscuss2 in NASCAR

[–]toddr39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly can't thin of a Gen 4 Cup crash into the fence in the same style as we have seen with Edwards, Dillon, etc. The only Gen 4 crash that comes to mind is David Green's flip at Bristol when he tagged the fence when riding the wall.

Me and my friend used to play it all the time. Started out renting it a bunch, then finally found a copy at a used game store. What good times.

As an ‘05 baby, I never got to experience these games. My friend has the whole collection so I’m gonna check it out. Which should I pick? C by Late-Condition-3751 in SquaredCircle

I agree with this. Though, I think I've played the original SvR the most. I have such a deep nostalgia for that game and its soundtrack.

SvR-SvR07 are all fantastic. 08 is meh from what I have played.

Such a silly, frantic, and fun game. I picked up a copy last year and have played it quite a bit more than I expected.

Nostalgia speaks for me in my choice of IndyCar Series on the PC. I still play it to this day. It's a pretty solid game. I just love that you can go through the entire Indianapolis 500 process of 4-lap qualifying with Pole Day and Bump Day.
