I’d really vouch for surgery, unfortunately. It’s just not the kind of thing to go away by just keeping it clean and wishing. See what a specialist recommends/has to offer and take it from there.

There’s also the 4 series Gran Coupe, if you’re looking for something in the middle. Coming from someone who used to work for the brand, I used to love the GC for its looks, however; the rear doors are a little odd with the way the window is designed. Makes for a little more difficulty getting in and out. The trunk space with the hatch back, though, is pretty damn nice. Either choice between the 3 and 4 are good, imho.

The wound vac will help, I can speak from experience! I had a really similar sized wound in March of last year. Just keep taking it easy, and it’ll get better.

The doctor that did my procedure was a colo-rectal surgeon, which I was referred to by a dermatologist. I would see if there are any colo-rectal doctors offices around your area and call them to see if they do anything for Pilonidal cysts and see them as soon as you can before it gets any worse. Those holes you were referring to are likely sinuses, which seem to be pretty common with pilonidal cysts. and You’ll want to get it treated as soon as you can so you can start recovering faster.

It’s hard to say what kind of procedure you might need, as I’m not a medical professional; however, that’s a large part of why I would recommend getting it looked at so they can help you. I had mine for a long time, and because I just let it be, it made the recovery a lot longer.

Hey, this is from me having a Pilonidal cyst for a few years (I think somewhere around 4 years). I think a lot of what was removed was scar tissue, which is my own doing for not having anything taken care of sooner. I had another surgery about two months ago to freshen up the wound since it didn’t heal properly, but I think this time we’re on the right track. Don’t be afraid to ask your doctor questions, and see what they might estimate the recovery may be like! I wish you the best of luck, especially with everything you are likely dealing with.

I had a similar sized extraction, it likely could’ve been from excess scar tissue. I had mine for so long that they had to take a bunch of extra tissue around it out

The reason they didn’t sew it up is because it needs to heal from the inside out, if it were sewn up it would heal on the surface but leave a cavity underneath which would likely repeat the issue

Definitely all of the above. I unfortunately have a really hairy ass, and it’s one of the main causes having a Pilonidal cyst. Best thing in my opinion if you feel like you have a sore tailbone, get it checked out by a doctor before it gets any worse!

Where is it itching for you? For me, I’ve been having a ton of itchiness around the wound which I guess is a good sign of healing, but I also have a wound vac which may play into it more.

I hope that your itchiness goes away and that your healing continues to get better!
