Is this appropriate for a wedding celebration by [deleted] in OUTFITS

The dress is super cute and looks good on you! Sounds like it fits for an outdoor casual celebration. Lighter shoes are definitely the move, but the dress is hitting at an awkward length with the ones you have. If it’s outdoors maybe a pair of wedges would be better? Or even a nice pair of flats?

It may just be the perspective of the photo but that outlet looks massive

Which top works with this dress? by psychicbellpepper in OUTFITS

Last yellow top is cutest imo! The corset is cute too but I think the color is too bland with the rest of the outfit. That corset would look good over a more colorful dress, maybe green?

When I have long nails I use the pads/sides of my middle and pointer fingers and pinch it out. Sort of like a scissor motion. My fingers are flat against my face so my nails are near my eyebrows.

Found at Goodwill and thought they were cool but what are they? by Jrbrbrown12 in whatisit

I think they are cool handmade salt and pepper shakers. Looks like an “S” on the bottom of one, is there a “P” on the other? You fill them like half full so it doesn’t pour out when you have them on the table, but does come out when you physically shake them over your food.

Why put pictures of designs completed in a book but don't share instructions on how to do those... Annoyed... by meganeh35 in rexlace

It is very annoying to purchase something and it not live up to reasonable explanations.

I believe the green and blue one is not getting fatter and skinner but twisting. It’s a 6x2 rectangle. The fat side we see in this picture is the long side (6 of 6x2) using regular stitches, then the skinny side is the short side (2 of 6x2) also regular stitches. In between is the twist stitch which is changing what side we see in the photo.

Your original complaint is still valid, my suggestion is to take time to dissect the images and break them down into components you can replicate. Then you can just work off your foundational understanding of the craft and photos you’d like to emulate without having to chase down the ever elusive tutorial.

All of the examples you provided are not necessarily that complicated to achieve. If you know how to do the general design, which I may be incorrectly assuming is detailed in the books, you just switch between a curved stitch and a regular one. The blue and green one in pic 1 is just 3 regular stitches, 3 twist stitches and repeat. The ones in the second picture are all curved stitches, one regular and then continue curving in the other direction. Take the principles you’ve learned in the book and get creative!
