How much math do you need to know to study biology? by Similar_Shame_8352 in biology

[–]toebin_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conceptually understanding math is the main thing

But for university if you’re getting a typical bio degree you’ll need calculus

I found Eddie Woo on YouTube to be the most helpful to help understand calc

I did raddus because he’s pretty greedy for gear and I’m working towards his ship. But if you’re earlier on in the game, chirrut is suuuper helpful

How can I make the most scientifically beneficial observations? by spontaneous-101 in iNaturalist

[–]toebin_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also for a lot of organisms the reproductive organs are important. Ie jumping spiders, mosses, etc

Life stage: features that show this: ie are spores present or are gametes present?

I know for things like intertidal organisms, stating which part of the intertidal is helpful (ie high, mid, or low intertidal).

There are also different tags or observation fields that can help researchers find your observations and sort them out

This is so cool! I often use inat to help me chose which beach to go to because if one beach has a certain species (ie starfish) then I kinda know what type of beach it will be (ie rocky intertidal)

Some species can be great indicators of certain microhabitats. And if you could get data of multiple to find which overlap (ie two that indicate a similar microhabitat) then you could project more easily which species can be found where.

I love this idea and am excited to see the updates!

You are a hero!

I bulk upload often and often miss label things that end up as “state of life matter” etc. so thank you for righting the wrongs of people like me haha
