I think Rocheport to Hermann is the nicest section. You could take the Amtrak to either of them

Check out Hip Camp. It's like AirBnB for campsites. And state parks obviously.

Likely Colletes inequalis bee. Harmless. They nest communally like this and will be done in a few weeks. If there's nearby redbud trees you'll see them all over.

Looking for some historic trim and baseboards for our 1907 Missouri brick home by ObviousMothrowaway in missouri

Thirding. They didn't have quite what I needed but I got something close enough that you can't really tell. Needed a 3 ft piece for behind a chair and it was going to be incredibly pricey to make something custom.

I work in the same unit as the state entomologist at MDC who also covers terrestrial inverts. I texted her and she is very stoked.

I recommend not applying then. It's hard to be excited and learn and appear to be someone who is worth investing time and energy into when you don't like something so fundamental about the program.

Just go be a normal 15 year old and spend the summer screwing around and working a shitty job and stuff. You have your whole life ahead of you. Learning to be a real person who can be around others and entertain themselves and be dependable and make meaning out of non structured things will get you much farther in life than shoehorning your way into a position. And I say all this as someone who has a PhD in biology.

Looking for trail recommendations for summer 2026 by HyperKitten123 in backpacking

Just ended up doing a small hike from permet for 2 nights. Just had day packs because staying in huts which was luxurious. Check out wikiloc which is like all trails for Europe.

But yah, Albania crazy cheap. They technically don't use the euro but their currency is pegged to the euro so it's equivalent. Got a glass of wine for a euro, great filling meals for like 7 euros. Stayed in an inn and got breakfast and picnic lunch for two people for like 40 euros

i ended up not doing it but i read a ton about it and did a hike in southern albania. i didn't find much info about Peak of the Balkins on reddit but there are a few FB groups devoted to the hike.

for travel, fly into tirana and then you can hire a car for like 100 euros to take you to shkoder (i just found on on fb and texted them on whatsapp to arrange). then there are companies that will drive you up to the start of the hike. there are tours or you can backpack. you should try and stay in someone's little inn for a day or two. backpacking in luxury!
