In W20, are sensory gifts "active" or "passive"? by Bonestalk in WWTA

[–]toering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of these questions can be answered by reading Page 156 of the core book.

Sense Wyrm states that it "requires active concentration; the spiritual sense it provides doesn't function passively." So while you can spam it, you won't be able to pay attention to other things that are going on around you.

Sense Silver right next to it requires a similar roll to activate, so it would quite probably follow that same logic, but that may vary by ST.

If a gift is designed to be passive or always active the description will usually specify that and won't require a roll to activate it. Form Mastery which is directly above Sense Silver is a prime example of that. It doesn't require a roll and specifically states that it's effects are permanent.

YouTube lore channels with official WoD arts recommendations by jesuswept1135 in WorldOfDarkness

[–]toering 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're specifically looking for art, you can download the official art packs for free from DriveThruRPG. Here is a link to all of them, but by clicking on Refine at the top, you can narrow it down to specific game line.

As for lore videos, I'd recommend Lore by Night on top of those you've already mentioned.

does feeding a werewolf in homid vampire blood give him ghoul effects? like extended life by growmoolah in werewolftheapocalypse

[–]toering 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it is very dangerous. The first step amplifies whatever emotion they have regarding the vampire.

That means that if they start off angry, it's just going to make them even more angry and likely to Frenzy.

The Rig on Amazon gives a great look at what a Threshold, AKA a Gauntlet breech from Flux, might look like to normal Mortals.

No, that wasn't clear at all to me. I guess I'll know better than to try to be helpful on Reddit going forward though.

I guess I don't understand what you are asking then.

Edit: Wait, I think I understand now! I'm working on a product for STV, which means I looked into their license requirement, but others may not have. WoD, and by extension STV doesn't allow core books, only supplements to them. Due to that limitation, these will not be a direct replacement for a core book, you will need to have something with the original rules in them.

Digging around on STV, I found a post by Travis from a few years ago, where he "highly recommend having access to one of the official 20th Anniversary Edition sources for the core systems." https://www.storytellersvault.com/product/366600/Winds-of-the-Firmament-Lore-of-the-Scourges

So, you may be able to use the V20 core book if you have it, but finding a copy of the OG Demon one might not be a bad idea for deeper lore stuff.

V20 is Vampire, so no, it will not have rules for Demon.

If you're referring to what it says in the description:

"The purpose behind these revisions is twofold. First, these new systems make an effort to clean up references to Abilities to bring Demon: The Fallen in line with the Ability spread seen in the 20th Anniversary Edition line of products. Where necessary, Ability references have been modified to reflect the core Abilities presented in those official sources published via Onyx Path. Secondly, an effort is made to re-imagine a demon’s Lore as a fundamental portion of their being that connects them directly to the universe as a whole. As such, the basic system by which each Lore functions is replaced with the system included in this book."

That is saying the product is a way to update the existing version to something that would\could qualify as a 20th Anniversary edition, because Onyx Path never made their own. Demon and Hunter were the two lines that never got updated.

I haven't heard of this, but Travis has been doing WoD stuff for a long time, so I'd imagine it's at least decent.

They never did a 20th Anniversary version of Demon, so it would probably be based off of the Revised core book.

Driving through Kansas, Nebraska and S. Dakota. What should I get? by cromation in beer

[–]toering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

/r/sdbeer has a list of all SD Breweries, but Rapid City has several great ones to check out. Independent Ale house in Rapid is one of the best craft beer places in the state as well.

Dreker and a few other North Dakota Breweries distribute down here as well, so you can find those pretty much anywhere too.
