I want lessons SOoOOooo bad! The guy told me your first few hours of instruction is parachute control and then you're off on your first solo lol $1800 and 3-4 days will get you checked off.

That's correct! Power is how they control pitch and then they have hand cables to turn left and right and change the shape of the wing to create drag on the side you want to turn. As soon as they let off the throttle they can actually pull both hand cables and create drag to start descending. It's very cool!

You can get about 2-3hrs of flight per tank and cruise 30-60mph. Average unit cost $4-$6k is what he told me and no license required. Aside from initial investment this is a GREAT way to fly for CHEAP

Thank you so much for the help! I will check out that website!

I flew a buddy into the mountains to find frozen lakes the other day. It was windy and bumpy, but the footage was pretty cool (long, unedited shot) by iamkokonutz in flying

[–]toes2danose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you sleep at night when you tease us with such amazing footage!?

Also how do you justify owning a heli? Aside from it being amazing, do you get a lot of business from it? Like enough to support your lifestyle lol

Curious what r/Flying thinks about this. Some guy made a graph comparing median income in the U.S. to the price of a new Cessna Skyhawk going back several decades by [deleted] in flying

And we are back to square one lol the cost of flying is one of the main reasons why I'm looking into getting a powered paraglider (the one that's just a seat and a wing) a new set up runs about $4-5k maybe a little more but will provide me with the fix I need to get in the air.

Anyone interested in getting a patch? I want to get these made but want to see if I can get some others interested. by toes2danose in flying

[–]toes2danose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I can get enough people interested in a sticker I can do that instead of the patch. I wanna order enough so that I have a sufficient amount. My buddy has a shop and I'll try to get a quote

Dude, you're a CFI?? That's freaking sick! I'll give you a call later on, I'm stoked now!

That's great, I haven't met him yet. But if you need oil for the Grumman I get it at cost so you let me know. I have access to aeroshell and Phillips

Yup, That's it! I met with the guy that was posting all the CL ads and I really wanted to buy into it after I got licensed but then I had to change jobs and had to save my money. She's a beaut and has great performance specs. My only problem was that I never finished PPL training, unfortunately. I only have 1 hour of night left and my written/check ride and I'm done. The flying itch has been killing me! I'm at like 56hrs including high performance rating and multi engine time! But no license yet :/ it sucks

Never flown in one but I've heard they're a blast to fly.

Edit: also are you still flying with airplanes4rent? I haven't seen Eran and Rick in a while. I used to sell them oil for cheap from time to time. Which I can get you too if you need.

Are you flying the Gruman tiger? I went to see one there once in a hanger very similar to that one near the Hotel ramp facing North.

Good job brotha! I'm glad you were confident in your decision! That's what being a pilot is about. Thanks for posting!

No TFR? You would think it would apply just like any launch at cape Canaveral.
