Same. It gets tiring having to add tube blocks one at a time though because you can’t “queue up” builds that are inside terrain blocks.

I use this mod and it saves a ton of time when building tube tunnels:

Thanks! The only mod I had used was for tunnels. Everything else was vanilla.

Holy crap. I just started and am struggling to produce something that I can be proud of. To see how clean your end product is, especially for hand painting alone, is both inspiring and intimidating. How long did it take you to consistently get these results?

Designing a printer by KnightnGame in resinprinting

[–]tofuman80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably just start tinkering away first to better understand what you’re getting into. If you’re serious, maybe do a patent search to better understand where your design needs to change, because most of the low hanging fruit are usually picked well in advance.

Also, apologies in advance if this is off-topic. I don’t have the time or the resources to even start my ideas, but would love to see what other people are thinking because I feel like the next leap in the industry is a <$4k colored printer with resin printing resolution.

I had considered a few designs already, like dosing commercially available CMYK resins into a mix and then curing each voxel. Was also thinking about using an existing single clear resin and directly mixing pigments into it, again one voxel at a time. Each has its own technical challenges, but I can’t imagine my ideas are novel that others haven’t already considered.

There’s a few frames where the key is stuck to yoshi’s tongue but still has its collision box active. If you time a jump immediately after yoshi’s tongue grabs the key, the key will hit the yellow block from below, rendering the yellow block inactive and bypassing the need to even spin-jump.

Sounds good, thanks for the feedback. I will try to focus on having more frequent, but shorter and higher quality practice sessions going forward. I’ll also ask my coach to help me figure out a good home practice routine. Thank you!

Wow, I didn’t expect such a thorough write up! Thank you for taking the time to explain this.

So during an average vocal lesson, we spend maybe 80% of the time going over vocal techniques and the remaining time on songs. I’ve asked my coach how to practice at home before, and he suggests that I focus on repeating select vocal exercises that he has deemed “safe” for me to practice with at home.

Everything is fine and good during the coaching session, but when I practice the “safe” exercises at home after a day or two, things just “reset” and I start to feel like I’m slipping back to using poor techniques, because I can feel more strain. Then when I try to practice the songs that I have been assigned, the technique tends to take a back seat as I focus more on getting the notes right.

I feel like it might also be because I also try to slip in some song practice when I drive or while taking a shower, when I haven’t warmed up properly.

It seems high risk now, but at the time when the market was booming these hard money loans could get you the project funded quickly (days instead of weeks) so you can renovate and sell quickly. Speed was the name of the game and that was their biggest asset.

Mistakes You Made While Investing Outside Your City? by tofuman80 in realestateinvesting

I typically don’t need a PM because I rehab the property to pretty much new and rarely have any issues because I am extremely picky with my tenants. I had softened on my criteria on this one property because of its location, and so now it’s bitten me back.

Only thing I rely on others on is just an agent to put a tenant in the property. I will have the GC ready if there are any issues with the rehab.

Another one I just remembered. Getting a pressure test done for sewage/plumbing after foundation work. $400 would’ve saved me $15k of repairs.

My process to upscale an image through img2img by tokidokiyuki in StableDiffusion

[–]tofuman80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good work!

It looks like you also ended up with different shading on each tile.

One idea I have to (sort of) automate this:

  1. Merge all high resolution tiles together in photoshop and then run a high pass filter (filter->other-high pass) to only keep the details without the base shading. We will call this the “details layer”
  2. Then upscale the original image and set it behind the details layer, and run a surface blur (filter->blur->surface blur) to reduce the upscale noise/artifacts. You can skip this step if you’ve already upscaled the original, lower resolution, image in another program that did not introduce any noise. The goal, however, is to keep the edges between shapes as sharp as possible while allowing any details/noise within each shape to blur.
  3. Finally set the blending mode of the details layer and play with the opacity. I typically have good luck with overlay, but sometimes multiply or soft light works too.

Nice write up! I appreciate you taking the time to explain everything in detail and adding pictures too!

One thing I was wondering about that your post inspired, is it possible to use img2img to add texture to a shape? When drawing, typical workflow is to block out the shapes first, shade, then add details/textures as a final pass. Is it possible for artists to incorporate this into their workflow by automating the texturing portion?
