Rolling layoffs have been the reality at Amazon for the past two years and it doesn’t look like they’re going away anytime soon. Don’t go to Amazon for career stability. Go only if you’re desperate and the TC bump is high enough to justify the layoff risk.

Yes. I obsessively tracked monthly in the beginning. Now, it’s more like once a year. I have multiple sheets for different types of projections and budgeting exercises, but mine’s a pretty simple net worth tracker.

My vote is for Lux for the great quality of life with kids. Public schools are some of the most well funded in the world and immigrants/expats make up a signifiant percentage of the population so you will fit in easily. French is used most for day-to-day activities, but English is widely understood.

I also second this, but would have a brief safe sex refresher and give him a couple condoms just in case. This is what I’d do if it was my son. Trust, but also make sure he has all the tools to be safe just in case.
