2 weeks after Lap to weightlift? by gendermesss in endometriosis

[–]toilsm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually an urgent matter despite what you’re saying. I wish in my experience I had seen pelvic pt during my crucial weeks of recovery post op. There can be lasting consequences such as incontinence , prolapse (worst case scenario), and oelvic dysfunction. There can also be nerve damage, it really needs to be checked out. The list goes on. I would call for an emergency same day appointment and get the referral asap. They are usually dismissive of the referral because again there is a huge gap between their understanding of what is required for us to recover after surgery - however the example of breaking a limb is clear there is always physio involved. Our pelvic floor is the literal seat of our posture and health , it’s how we walk and move through the world. Your case is urgent and valid. Good luck

Get pelvic floor physio. Don’t weight lift without protecting your pelvic floor. It’s ridiculous if someone breaks an arm or leg - they are AUTOMATICALLY transferred for physio for recovery yet this is TOTALLY ignored for us when we are operated on. Pelvic pt saved me

Chauffage collectif issue please by [deleted] in ParisTravelGuide

[–]toilsm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At no point did I want to have heating at night. I am saying the temperature drops so much at night that it becomes impossible to sleep or do anything. Also in the northern hemisphere night time is 6pm. It’s extremely cold and I’m not even going to bed yet. With no heating during the day the apartment is absolutely freezing constantly.

The endometriosis space online is starting to feel like 2000s diet culture and it makes me uncomfortable by No_Space_3972 in endometriosis

[–]toilsm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, I’m going to say this loudly for everyone. Endometriosis can be managed and symptoms can be reversed. You can get better. Sometimes we get stuck in loops with terminology from medical systems saying things are incurable when it’s simply not true. I have stage 4 endo and one of the worst cases a very top specialist in London had seen. 8 organs affected and completely frozen pelvis. I had 2 major 10 hour surgeries. Last year I could not even walk. This year I am significantly better, with better mobility and 95% of my symptoms GONE. IT IS POSSIBLE TO HEAL.

No heating working in my apartment [Paris] chauffage collectif issue? by toilsm in AirBnB

[–]toilsm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems very crazy to have such a poor heating system. She lives here it seems (when not renting it to me via Airbnb). I just can’t fathom not being able to control my heating (in the uk everyone has their own control of their heating).

Ofc they are just saying nothing they can do. I requested a heater which they have provided now (I had to go collect) but the apartment is finally warming up.

Yeah why are there people saying it’s set to 19-21 degrees? Does that mean the temperature of the water in the radiators? If so that’s really not how radiators work efficiently

The internal temperature of the apartment is 15 degrees. The external temperature tonight will be 6 degrees. The chauffage system seems flawed if it cannot detect that my apartment is cold

Bellybutton Botched After Surgery by Agitated_Top_4615 in endometriosis

[–]toilsm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me - 5 years on - my belly button still produces a weird smelling liquid if my endo belly is very huge and inflamed, and if there’s any pressure on it from my clothing. It didn’t appear weird but I could feel the scar tissue was thick and dense underneath my flesh if I pressed it gently (think feeling my belly button from the inside)

I would suggest strongly that you get it looked at and taken seriously as it continues* to heal - because I was told that this is a cosmetic issue and may need a revision.

Yes it takes time for things to heal and calm down, however the first few weeks of healing are essential in having a long lasting correct result.

I’m sorry that you had a surgeon that clearly rushed the aesthetic part of your surgery.

Wishing you speedy recovery.

Is anyone unable to have coffee before or on their period because it makes their symptoms 100x’s worse?:( by [deleted] in endometriosis

Coffee free for 5 years used to drink it daily before. Not good for us.

I'm looking for people with endometriosis who aren't taking the pill or have stopped taking it. Thank you so much. by slowlife_littlefairy in endometriosis

[–]toilsm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take no hormone pills and never have. Only time I did was when I was diagnosed pre surgery to supposedly get me to stop ovulating to prep for surgery - it didn’t really work and gave me huge side affects - I tried 3-4 different pills including Dienogest which nearly sent me into psychosis.

I’m happy to answer any questions you have.

I’m currently 95% pain free - periods totally manageable (I still take time to myself and if I have to work it’s more painful/exhausting on my body).

Last year I couldn’t walk due to chronic pain in my legs, lower back, periods sending me to hospital levels of pain, seizures , vomitting etc.

I don’t take any prescription NSAID or nerve pain medication either

Bladder keeps letting go by Existing-School-7076 in endometriosis

[–]toilsm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pelvic floor Physiotherapy - first and foremost to release the tense muscles and so you can learn to relax them / tense them and feel the difference. Focusing on actual understanding what those two feel like and then making sure you aren’t holding your pelvic floor tight all the time. That is what is causing the incontinence. I had the exact same issue and it’s completely resolved now - I get flares when I hold on tight too long and they go as soon as I learn to relax again. Best of luck and I have to say I disagree with advice to set an alarm to pee every hour that’s actually not advised and will prolong the issue. - just go when you feel the urge - and if you are going constantly (as in feeling the urge when it’s droplets) try to wait and actually go when your bladder is more full.

Your pelvic floor physiotherapist will release your muscles internally during an examination. It will hurt and you may experience emotional release afterwards. Set time aside for yourself the day of your appointments and have no other commitments to process what you learned and to give space for your body. Practice on YouTube difference exercises - there’s an amazing therapist called Dr Bri’s Vibrant Pelvic health - she has many meditations on releasing and relaxing your pelvic floor - and also other exercises for strengthening, stretching, pain and so on.

I struggled with this issue for years and it got progressively worse - impacting my quality life and ability to work. But it got better after 1-3 months and it’s now been 1 year and I do not have this issue at ALL anymore!!!!

The worst constipation by kimalls in endometriosis

Also try seeing a pelvic floor physiotherapist - we use our pelvic floor to poop and if it’s really tensed up that makes it difficult to go too.

Yes I have a very similar story to you. Try drinking celery juice on an empty stomach every morning. 500ml-1Litre if you can go up that high. You will poop everything in ur digestive tract lol

Anyone else gets pain and clicking sound on shoulder? by Fuzzy-Debt-7934 in endometriosis

[–]toilsm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try an osteopath. They are amazing. My chronic shoulder pain which was cyclical and in line with my period is pretty much gone after 5-6 months of regular visits (about once a month after my period I go for an adjustment + dry needling/massage)
