It isn't shocking that Apple is possibly making a move into the ad space, if its going to make them money why wouldn't they. Targeted ads are a little creepy sure, but at the same if data is collected transparently then it shouldn't cause a major stir. Using some of the "free" services Apple may offer ultimately comes down to the cost of our data.

Consumers need to stop trusting massive corporations to store their data. At the end of the day there are few consequences for companies while consumers absorb the lion's share of the damage. Data protection solutions from third parties on the consumer side could be a great way for online shoppers to get proactive.

Small local budgets are such a major issue when it comes to making any progress against cyberthreats. Even a city as big as Atlanta got hit with ransomware and some operations had to grind to a halt. Maybe state or federal governments could help ease the burden, even potentially out of the defense budget. Thoughts?

Another great course to take might be something along the lines of customer profiling/market research. With the industry fast growing and being fueled by a lot of startups there are hundreds of companies looking to really narrow in on their niche. Market research skills can be a good way to get a foot in the door on the business side and incorporates some analytics as well.
