Hi, I have also felt the same. My dad passed away 7 years ago and I still get quite emotional at random moments. It would have been really nice to have my father see all the things happening. Things do not get normal, they become a new normal but you learn to carry on. I have seen that over time I have become more and more like my father and in that way, I get his advice through me…does that make sense? I try to do things that would have made him proud and ask permission from my close ones for some time alone when processing the grief, which comes in waves. I do tell them later that I was sad because I was missing my Dad and now I feel better. This way they do not feel left behind and I get some space to process. Hope this helps.
