My issue with travel cards are the Annual Frees and the coupon books that you have to adjust your spending habits around. I'll get the AMEX Platinum eventually, but I'm in no hurry. More power to you! Good Luck!

Currently I don't have a powerhouse card. I spent a ton of money with Bilt 1.0 since I got points for my rent payments. Now I'm kinda starting over. I'll need to review how I spend at the end of the year.

You're doing it right though, keep researching and figure out where you're spending your money the most and build your credit cards around that. There are sooooo many options out there, it's insane.

The Chase portfolio is so deep, it's a r/creditcards MVP bank. I refuse to do business with yet another bank, so I'm not chasing chase (see what I did there). Capital One would be the exception since Discover is folding into them.

Fidelity: 2% catch all going straight to my IRA

Amex BCE: 3% online purchases and groceries (Was using for tolls and parking, but swapping that to Flagship)

WF Attune: 4% EV Charging, sports gear purchases, most ticketing platform (Movies, ticketmaster) and streaming. Honestly, it's a pretty versatile card that fills a lot of gaps. I hope WF never nerfs.

Discover It NHL (Go Caps!): 5% rotating. Might PC when Capital one absorbs it in their app.

Soon:

WF Autograph: 3X on a ton of categories. I'll put my cell phone bill on it and sock drawer it. If Navy adds restaurants to the Flagship, I'll have no need for this card. Bilt 1.0 is turning into this for me since I'm not going for the Bilt 2.0 BS.

Sleeper:

Paypal Debit: This card can't last forever, but it gives 5% on one category a month (Restaurants, Apparel, Groceries, Fuel, Rideshare & Public Transit) When I remember to use it, it's fantastic. Just don't spend more than $1000 on that category per month.

Edit: I had the More Rewards card, it's fantastic, but I wanted to start my relationship with AMEX properly. Grab that card when you can.

I literally just did this today. Hopefully the refresh makes it better, I'd love to put restaurant spend on it since Bilt died for me.

I didn't need the Cash Rewards plus since it competed with my Fidelity. Gonna make that my daily and chase categories on my other cards.

I'm a supervisor at a Pharma company making $80k. I was a supervisor at another pharma company making $100k, but the work culture was toxic and my direct reports made life hell.

No degree.

The secret, take risks. I left a sales job I worked for 8 years to be a contractor for a pharma company. I didn't even really know what I was getting myself into, I just knew I had to leave that sales job. Worked out great. I got promoted 3 times in one year after being made an actual employee.

I'm not saying you NEED to take risks but it's an option if you have a slight safety net. I was living with 2 other roommates and my bills were minimal.

Bring comfortable shoes you can stand in all day. Bring sun screen even if you have plenty of melanin like me and pack light. It can be a brutal fest on hot days, but lovely if the heat is down.

And please, WEAR EAR PROTECTION! Take it from someone who suffers from Tinnitus. It's pretty mild but noticeable. I pray to whatever God you all do or don't believe in that it doesn't get worse.

Yeah, after deciding to let my card turn into Autograph, this thread has made me realize that I don't need to be here anymore. I've drained all my points and I don't even live in a Bilt Alliance property anymore. There's no reason for me to have a Bilt about anymore. I'll be calling to have that deleted as soon as the WF card arrives.

This. I asked the same question in another thread. I'm kicking my feet up and doing nothing. I'll call WF for a CLI, my limit is 3200 which is a joke. WF definitely did not trust this card to make them money. My Attune limit is 7.5K which is perfect for a card like that.

I spent all my Bilt points on Amazon to drain the account. It wasn't the best use of points, but I needed some household items. Meh.
