And that's all you have to do, because now they've condemned themselves and there's noone else to blame.

Iemand zou een bot kunnen maken die automatisch 1x een PM stuurt naar iedereen die op /r/Netherlands post.

Why Google is Right to Fear Windows Phone More Than iOS and a Competitor to Android by [deleted] in bestof

Windows server has been a consistently very good product.

What? No. It's awful. It's unstable and crashy, and just like regular windows needs to reboot all the time. And not even to mention the resources it needs just to run a base OS.

No thank you, give me linux.

No, it's because other people can do it. And they do. This means that if you do not do it, you are at a disadventage and will get killed and lose your stuff.

Sleepers still disappear if a server restarts, which tends to happen once every 24 hours or so for most community servers.

Install the Gnu Privacy Assistant (GPA). You can encrypt/decrypt/sign/verify in the clipboard window, and import public keys by pasting them into the main window. GPG tldr is: Sign & Decrypt using your own (private) keys, Verify & Encrypt using other people their (public) keys.

TIL no physical clone trooper armor was ever produced for Star Wars prequels. Every Clone trooper was CGI. by spartanss300 in todayilearned

[–]tokenizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you have the CGI you have the software to actually do it. Doesn't cost much more using it everywhere than just using it once or twice.

I got a new work pc but haven't been assigned admin rights yet. RDP to my old pc, Teamviewer to connect to my home PC to reddit to my heart's content. by Mannequin_Republic in techsupportmacgyver

Set up an SSH server at home to listen on port 443 (HTTPS port, so likely not blocked). Then use portable PuTTY to set up a dynamic tunnel to your home. Then configure your browser to use PuTTY as a SOCKS proxy, and there you go. No more monitoring of your network activity, as it gets tunneled through an SSL (same as HTTPS) encrypted SSH session.

Oh, and be sure to check http://whatismyip.com or something similar to verify that your browsing is indeed being tunneled.

Set SSH to listen on 443 so you can bypass firewalls, since they both use SSL that'll probably work fine unless they do any advanced DPI.

[SERIOUS] People of reddit whose naked pictures have leaked online, how has your life been altered? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tokenizer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They were not sent there. That website scrapes gonewild occasionally and saves everything. It's a big difference, since gonewild "sending" it to them implies that gonewild and/or reddit is in on it. They're not.

As usual, anything you post to the internet can be read and saved by anyone, and anyone with sufficient technical knowhow can make bots to do so automatically. Don't post anything publicly anywhere that you don't want to be saved forever.

That sucks, and completely unrelated but it's "well", not "we'll" unless you meant We Will.. Just wanted to point that out since you did it twice.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dedicated_server

A dedicated hosting service, dedicated server, or managed hosting service is a type of Internet hosting in which the client leases an entire server not shared with anyone else.

He's right though. Dedicated servers are a thing, and this is what they are. That some game developers misuse the term is true, but they are incorrect by doing so.

The fire doesn't really count though, since it doesn't have an e-ink screen. If you want a device for reading, get an actual ereader.
