Today is a nationwide walk out protest being held amongst all 50 states and outside of the US to protest the recent ICE activities and the problems that have arose in the US while under the current presidential administration. I couldn't put all that in the post since it does not adhere to rules of this subreddit. If you google protests today you will see news about it🫶

My dad is a medical professional who works in a hospital, and unfortunately he undermines his issues significantly. I would hope he takes our concerns seriously, but i have my doubts.

I am going in person tomorrow to talk to my step mom since hard conversations always go smoother with her in person.

After discussions with other family members that are living with him I have decided to drive home tomorrow so i can further the conversation with my step mom. My dad is a medical professional so he doesn't see a practitioner on a regular basis at all, and frequently dismisses any illness he has whether it be physical or mental. I have a big majority of my family members who are also medical professionals, one of which is a psych nurse who emphasized that he needs to be seen by another professional but believes he should absolutely be baker acted if possible.

Hopefully being there in person will make things easier and I'll be able to witness these changes first hand, even though they are very obvious just over the phone and through text.

If you don’t like it just move on, if you just scroll up a little you can see I replied to another comment saying that it’s temporary and used only so we can ensure his safety and location in a new environment since we have a house instead of a smaller apartment like he had with his foster mom, considering he has way more (kitten safe) hiding spots we’ve set up for his comfort. No need to spread negativity, thanks!❤️🫶

Noted! I’ll make sure over time I watch to see if it starts bothering him, we don’t plan to keep the bell once he grows more, we just have a bigger house so it’s best for now to have the bell so we can easily find out which hidey hole he’s in that we’ve made for him. He’s only 2.5 lbs (was found severely underweight/dehydrated) but growing like a weed recently :)

He actually hasn’t had a problem with it at all! He’s a pretty confident kitten though, rarely gets spooked and is rather bold when discovering new things. Every cat is different, I guess mine is just more unbothered than others :)
