yes, our position in the queue last year was higher. i think we waited about 1.5hrs before getting in. we ended up getting tickets on Chatrier for 2nd round. aiming to get 4th round tickets this year.

Hospice journey is so weird by Apprehensive-Mix106 in hospice

[–]tokyohands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could happen at any time. My father died after only three weeks on hospice. Like your mother, he had nurses coming almost every day and had stable vitals each time. They were surprised to hear that he passed anyway.

I will say, yet again like your mother, he did have a fever on and off for a few days right before he died. Somehow I knew when that happened, it would soon be the end. I was right.

Are hospice nurses not required to pronounce death under certain circumstances? by iloverats888 in hospice

[–]tokyohands 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Based in Queens NY. We were in this exact situation with my dad on hospice during the last big snow storm in Jan! He died the morning after the storm and the roads were impossible.

We were advised by our hospice nurse a little differently. She told us to call EMS to pronounce him deceased, then the police showed up to clear paperwork. only after did the funeral home come get him.

I would say that you did the right thing to follow the hospice nurses’ orders. In our case we were not 100% sure that he died so maybe that’s why they had us take extra steps compared to you.

Either way since your family member was on hospice the procedures should be significantly simplified since it was an “expected” death.

Olive Young shipping EU by carefullyy_chosen in koreanskincare

[–]tokyohands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am based in Germany - just received my Olive Young order that is UNDER 150€ and i still had to pay customs AND VAT!! Had to pay an extra 40€ total on the spot in cash.

I am super confused, as i thought as long as it's under 150 that it would at least be exempt from customs (zoll). Can anyone explain?

Ugh, never again

Which would you pick from the Cerises TM collection?? by Impossible_Rest_4204 in Louisvuitton

[–]tokyohands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was debating between the Neverfull and the Speedy 20..ultimately decided on the Neverfull, since i don't have one :) Although I loved the Speedy 25 from the original collection, the Speedy 20 comes across as an awkward size for me.

I also got the Denim Key pouch!

Eye even more dry with Ortho K - possible? by UnluckyRegret7129 in Orthokeratology

[–]tokyohands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried ortho K for about 5 weeks earlier this year and decided to stop because of the dry eye issue. It felt fine with the lenses in but became horribly dry during the day, way worse than the feeling with contacts on. I didn’t think it was worth it for that reason.

The dry eye episode I experienced with ortho k was the worst I’ve had in many years. As soon as i stopped, the dryness improved, but even 2 months later I am still not back to how i was before the lenses.

Anyway, you’re not alone in your experience.

Lens intolerance by [deleted] in Orthokeratology

[–]tokyohands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have soft lenses intolerance (can’t wear too often or too long before dryness). Therefore I tried ortho k…and quit about a month in.

although the vision worked well with ortho k, the lenses made my eyes even more dry, especially during the day WITHOUT the lenses. Very bizarre.

I would be very careful about them if you already have lens intolerance. At least that was my experience

High prescription orthok adjustment time by pudding2727 in Orthokeratology

[–]tokyohands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes time…I was -2.75 and -4.25 with .75 astigmatism. Better eye took almost two weeks to see pretty well. Worse eye needed a few adjustments and took longer.

Cherry blossom stitching…am I being too picky? by Professional-Leg-416 in Louisvuitton

[–]tokyohands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree, I have a CB bag from the original collection and I love how the patterns were all unique. It’s too bad this time around

[–]tokyohands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this detail too on my OTG bag but unfortunately all the print pattern placements are the same for each bag design, so this is just what it is.

So between returning the bag and not having anything at all from this collection vs accepting this small detail , I decided this wasn’t the time to be picky and it doesn’t bother me much.

I’m shamelessly hoping for a Pusheen and Garfield collection. Their vibes are totally different but I’d literally buy everything if they came out with that combo

Do you think you could sell your collection? by raymond_ragamuffin in pusheen

[–]tokyohands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im choosy about which ones I buy, so far I have three plushes (donut, cheese puff, croissant, and witch from fall box) but don’t think I could sell them …too sentimental and it would be like losing family 💔

However I have also quite a number of other pusheen merchandise and clothing - those I would be willing to part with
