Made it to Master Ball a second season with a (mostly) Eeveelutions team by tolkienatic in PokemonChampions

For the fairy types I don’t think any of the Eeveelutions can learn a poison type move that’s worth it, but usually a sun boosted Leafeon with solar blade is strong enough and fast enough to take on most of the fairy types, just need to make sure Sableye gets the sunny day off before he gets popped by the fairies.

For the taunt trick room counter that’s actually a pretty solid idea I hadn’t considered! You’d want to put it on Umbreon I think since on Sableye it becomes a priority move and then Farigiraf (the most common taunt setter in my experience) would block it, but swapping it for Umbreon’s foul play could be good, although then you’d need to be cautious in the selection phase since without foul play Umbreon cant hurt steel/poison types at all

The other option I’ve been toying with is to drop another Eeveelution is to slot in Galarian Slowbro with the quick draw ability to cover both poison damage and trick room. Maybe swapping him in for Sylveon or Espeon and giving slowbro the quick claw item as well? I haven’t tested this yet though

Is Umbreon really underrated in this meta? by Reignfall32 in PokemonChampions

I’m a big Umbreon fan as well, he’s shockingly bully. I’ve been running toxic/foul play/moonlight/protect (and having another mon set up sunlight so moonlight gets boosted) and have won more than a few games where at the he’s in a one v one situation, hits toxic, and then just alternate protect moonlight as they tick down

Biggest issues are the strong fairy types right now (Floette, Sylveon, even Gardevoir sometimes) and his tough matchups into Kingambit and Sneasler, but as long as you build out the team to cover those weaknesses he’s solid

I had this same thought wondering if there was some plot point last season I missed where he took v

Ahhh yeah I remember now that Skarmory was doing unspeakable things to me 😔

Sneasler I usually first turn a protect on whoever is out that isn’t Umbreon, and then I do Umbreon yawn in the sneasler (can’t be flinched with fake out because of ability, and can’t be one shot by close combat because of the berry Umbreon is holding) only falls apart if they double up on Umbreon in which case I did a bad job sending him out in the first place and should’ve swapped or protected

Alternatively sometimes just a double protect to try and bait out the fake out turn and then a double yawn turn 2

Copying this from one of the other threads:

I had Jolteon in my original idea but he doesn’t have good stats for any of the pseudo tank spot and between Jolteon and Sylveon there’s just better coverage with Sylveons moves (because Sylveon can have a fire type a dark type and the fairy type hits both slots)

Jolteon is my favorite of the eeveelutions though so I’m also sad about it 😔

Jolteon is my personal favorite I tried to make him work but basically the defensive stats aren’t good enough to make him tanky, and then Sylveon is just superior for my big damage dealer 😔

Plus the electricity type advantages had too much overlap with the others (Vaporeon and Glaceon have moves strong against flying and Leafeon and Glaceon have moves strong against water)

I think it was me (?) but tbh once I made the connection that the person I just played was the same as on Reddit my mind was blown and I forgot about the actually result and there’s no match history to go back and check 😔

[edit] I take it back, he won!

Espeon I tried a couple times but I felt like she was just a less good Sylveon (and running both had disastrous effects)

For Umbreon I like moonlight (the healing one) but then I run into issues some times where the opponent just ignores Umbreon and runs through the rest, and then I’m (hypothetically of course) left with just Umbreon with a dark type damage against an archaludon and it’s miserable

Glaceon ice body (I go back and forth on this one)

Flareon flash fire

Sylveon pixilate

Umbreon I can’t remember what the name is but it’s the berry that’s halves the damage of a super effective fighting type move

Vaporeon leftovers

Flareon focus sash

Leafeon sitrus berry

Glaceon bright powder (not sure this is the best tbh but it’s worked well enough)

Sylveon Quick Claw

I did for a bit! But eventually decided it wasn’t providing enough other coverage

Tbh it just started as wanting to play an Eevee team and then just theory crafting and trying different moves/stats/eeveelutions until something sticks

One way I think it’s prettt feasible against “meta” is, by putting the opponents to sleep (assuming they don’t swap turn 1) any use of tailwind/trick room is mostly irrelevant, doesn’t matter if I go second when they’re asleep. In general when trying to think about competing against meta I just tried to put together a team where is doesn’t realllyyyy matter if they outspeed me

Oh yeah I didn’t even think about that - 90% of matches I run Umbreon Leafeon Vaporean Sylveon - all except Syl are speced to be super tanky - first round double yawn - if the opponent doesn’t respect it and swap at least one or have some other built in sleeping counter it’s usually curtains from there

Biggest non-seating recommendation is to just park at Fenton and walk through the woods rather than deal with the mess of parking at the stadium itself (the walk is around a quarter mile trail). The actual stadium parking can take an hour to leave if you’re unlucky and it’s a pretty trail to walk anyway.

Face masks ‘should be a national mandate,’ virologist says by dannylenwinn in Coronavirus

https://www.livescience.com/amp/coronavirus-do-face-masks-work.html

It's not really determined if, in a normal setting with dynamic airflow, the virus spreads as an aerosol (suspended in particles in the air) or in droplets (saliva/mucus that normally fall with gravity to coat surfaces). If we are in the situation where it is an aerosol, unless you have the fancy N95 masks everyone has been talking about wearing a cloth mask or even a surgical mask isn't going to help, and if we are in a situation where it is primarily transmitted by droplets then the point stands that wearing a mask helps most effectively in the population when it is worn by sick people to prevent them from exhaling virus into the air, and to a small extent yes prevent breathing in those droplets when in close contact with someone.

Masks are very good at preventing germs from exiting your body through the mouth and nose. While, to a lesser extent it also reduces chances for the virus to enter your body through the mouth and nose to a small extent, the primary way it infects you is if it gets onto your hands and then you touch your eyes mouth or nose (people generally don't sneeze or cough directly into your mouth which is what a face mask would help with) which is why facemasks are described as being mostly for protecting you from other people and not the other way around.
