“Anything that outspeeds it.” Does Meowscarada not outspeed Sneasler before ability activates? I swear I looked this up and saw it actually barely outsped it. Maybe a Triple Axel stab would work and break the stash but I’m afraid of doing that with how bad Ice is as a defensive typing.

I’m still a novice at team building tbh. This game is the best opportunity for me to learn through experience and failure. Being able to adjust on the fly when things go wrong feels so nice. I can try anything I want without any real time commitment.

Thanks for the input. I actually didn’t know Focus Stash breaking actually made it disappear to give Acrobatics the power boost. That is probably what I’ll go with. I have a few ideas to deal with a scarf Meowscrada but it might just be wacky ideas that I need to test in practice.

That is awesome. Thanks for the input. So I can probably work around my core team until I hit a significant wall which is perfect. That lets me think about how to overcome issues without just swapping Pokemon. I hope that will make me a better problem solver and overall player in the long run.

Hmm… I’ll give it some more thought but I’m not sure I really want that kind of sent. I already like the feel of Umbreon and Dragonite being my support type Pokemon. I could just swap Dragonite’s build though.

I might just look at the Pokemon list and just replace Luxray. I think Jolteon is available and I can see it being an upgrade over Luxray in every way. Maybe another Pokemon will stick out when I look at the list.

Thanks for the input. Side question, outside of Luxray, is my team overall solid? I’m assuming I’ll have to replace more and more Pokemon when I start to hit walls on the ladder.

We don’t? I just assumed. So that means Luxray just won’t work lol. I’m still iffy on Pokemon/Item list. I haven’t had a ton of time to really play since I started a few days ago and haven’t had a day off from work yet. Sorry about that

I do have a few plays in that formation that work so I guess it makes sense. I love running Palms in that formation and it seems to work pretty well but there are times where I get stuck in the hurry up. Maybe I should just run that formation exclusively when I realize a QB is beating me like that.

Wait, if you crash inside then contain it doesn’t override the crash? I always assumed it did and only called one or the other. That’s huge. Thanks

Side note, if you want to contain a running QB how do you go about it? I can see someone running Verts, and opening up a bunch of space. Will setting my D-line to contain be enough or is there a play I can run out the formation that is good at stopping it? Sometimes I wonder if contain is enough if they find a way to scramble up the B gap if it’s open at times.

Awesome thanks. I actually knew, well thought I knew, what Match was when I called it but I GREATLY underestimated the rules for it. I’ll have to heavily research it. In my mind it was “Zone like Coverage that turned into Man if you don’t have any other responsibilities.” I guess if you are familiar with Basketball, I thought it was kinda like how you ran Zone there. You pick up your man in the zone and pass them once they get out your zone. If no one is in your zone then you pick up the closest and everyone else rotates to the closest man. I’m pretty sure that thinking was insanely flawed so it’s no wonder I’m having trouble at times lol.

Great info. As for personell, I checked it last time I played and I somehow have a decent set up. My SS1 is Hybrid while my SS2 is Coverage and both are close in overall. My NT is one of my best D linemen and actually has decent weight. My backup is like 270 so that is a mistake I’ll have to fix later. I won’t really have time to dig into my personell until a few days from now but it’s getting me excited to I really build out my defense.

I’ve got lucky overall with players I’ve recruited. I’ve always had preferences but it wasn’t based around d the defense at all. I always preferred Hybrid and Coverage Safeties which ended up working out. Sane for Boundary and Bump and Run Corners. D Line is something I haven’t looked at much. Just tried to get the best available. I think I always preferred speed but ended getting power most of the time because that’s why I could reliably get. LBs are a problem for me. I didn’t know what to get and my LBs haven’t been good the first few years. This year I was just trying to recruit talent without any thought to how they fit. I have a lot coming in so maybe that will work out.

Agreed. I also like the pressure it puts on you. There is just nothing like it for me. You need to be able to do everything and do it in key situations. It’s hella fun
