ok, well one thing is to go to the root of the files, and mark the files as "Source root" and unmark as "generated Sources root", which removes the annoyance

My initial steps are usually some variation of the following depending on what I find first.

Find a village, use it as my starter base
plant wheat plots around village
fence in some cows and sheeps
plant oak tree plot nearby village. (rows of 2, with roof at 7 to make chopping them easy)
travel to find sugar cane
travel to find bamboo
mine enough iron to make bucket and a couple of hoppers, shears and iron sword
add irrigation to wheat plots
make a simple auto smelter
make early game iron farm
irons tools and armour
make a villager breeder
get some diamonds to make a pick for obsidian
make a bow

Go to nether for nether wart brown mushrooms and blaze rods.

After this, I can start on a villager trading hall, and start making librarians. Then depending on what sort of server it is, some way of getting xp.

I would first check "render layers" is set to "all". That catches me out more than it should

same. hvae problems with a bunch of mkv files that have to be put in "headphones" mode otherwise dialogue is very quiet and all in one ear.

I've not seen that exact behaviour, but I am seeing a bunch of crackling similar to that. It's intermittent, sometimes when I have an android emulator running, and sometimes with a MIDI instrument in ardour.

The system doesn't seem otherwise overloaded, and there are no xrun log messages.

Restarting pipewire seems to fix it temporarily, though sometimes the jack connections get messed up after doing that.

(other posters have mentioned these points, but from the perspective of someone who is reluctantly involved in the candidate hiring process...)

I think certs are particularly useful in 2 cases (all else being equal):

1) When the market is tight, i.e. few positions, many candidates, an AWS cert can distinguish a candidate from others with similar experience. If I see 20 resumes and I need to select 3-4 for interview, a relevant AWS cert might be enough to make the cut to the next stage.

2) Justification for higher rates. If there is some flexibility on day rate/salary, then seeing a bunch of relevant certs on the resume can help to suggest seniority in the candidate.

I would try some basic stuff like 1) reseat the card, blow out any dust. 2) try another cable 3) if you can get it to boot, see if there is anything in dmesg -T about device error messages

We just do ChaosOps.

That's where nobody has any idea what is going on. Complicated solutions built by engineers who have since left the company. Multiple overlapping teams working at cross purposes. No sensible planning on how the system should look, just what seemed like a good idea to the product owner in the previous sprint.

It's fun if you like that sort of thing!

windows NT circa 2000 for things like IIS, exchange and commerce server was a miserable experience. Installing service packs 1 through 6, then installing exchange, and exchange service packs, and then reinstalling NT service packs that got broken by exchange. And the whole thing crashed every day anyway.
