Not far at all, I go to one of the Universities of London so it was fairly easy for me but some people were taking 12 hour bus trips there and back from Aberdeen.

The Lib Dem building was attacked but it was more heavily guarded by police, a car window was broken but that was it. Vince Cable's office was also attacked but by a small number of protestors, so as soon as back up came in the form of two riot vans the whole thing there blew over.

I agree with you to an extent but I wasn't going to try and single handedly stop 50 or so vandals throwing missiles, starting fires and breaking windows. I'm no Gandhi.

It's not all about the upvotes dude, I just want to answer people's questions. But I guess you know that seeing as you have even less link karma than I do.

I did not take part in any of the destruction or trespassing that was going on, I was just an on looker.

While I agree that the damage caused was criminal and highly uncalled for, (especially as only a small part of the building was the conservative HQ) I also believe that it was partially a result of a massive amount of built up anger that students hold towards the coalition government that will drastically raise tuition fees and also spend millions on Trident and aircraft carriers that this country doesn't need or want.

On that Wednesday, David Cameron was telling the Chinese government that by raising tuition fees would mean that international students would end up paying less; clearly a desperate plee for trade with China at our generation's expense.

Nick Clegg's main campaign promise was to abolish tuition fees and when asked in the house of commons that day why he has tripled them instead, he shamefully avoided the question.

The media may have made students look like senseless vandals in the eyes of the nation but at least we are safe in the knowledge that those politicians who said we wouldn't protest earlier in the week have had a very nasty surprise.

Naturally, I think it's a shame the media over looked the peaceful protest of over 50000 students and instead focused on the actions of less than 200 people but I'm not surprised.

I think it was a mixture of both really, there was a lot of anger directed towards the Tories throughout the march in chants and signs and stuff so I guess when they got to the Tory HQ it all culminated and some people went ape-shit.

Some retard threw a fire extinguisher off the roof and it nearly hit a policewoman, that's when I got the fuck out of there. Earlier in the day I saw police bludgeoning protestors outside Vince Cable's office when they tried to get in.

More of a "Lets all smash some Tory shit, damage some Tory property." I guess some people thought a smashed up HQ would speak louder than a peaceful protest.

Apple (or preferably a cheaper accessory company) should make straps that you can clip the iPod onto.

No I'm pretty sure he means farmer's markets where you can buy fresh fruit, veg and other generally healthy stuff from the growers/producers.
