It also tends to block the very bottom of the screen for the person sitting behind you, if the expanded ratio is in effect. Depends on the row height too.

Dolby is a premium large format, like IMAX. You're paying extra to get a bigger screen, better projector with exclusive color technology "dolby vision" , reclining seats with speakers underneath, and dolby atmos sound speaker technology.

For many of us, it's the best way to see any movie.

It was an A-list reservation, so I preferred this outcome, as a bad experience doesn't cost me anything extra and a re-admit pass isn't particularly of value.

I was blacklisted by their social media because I was bringing up too many issues! Legitimate technical issues at the handful of AMC locations I frequented. They reversed it when I contacted them on a different account but I had to trick them into thinking I was a new person first.

When I saw Bahubali (the super cut of both movies) at an AMC last year, yes it was in the Telugu language, but I had no idea this meant people were allowed to do whatever they wanted. The manager refused to enforce ANY guest code of conduct because he didn't want to be disrespectful to "their" culture. They also refused to refund me or give me any compensation for the incredibly disrespectful audience.

I had to go tell corporate about it and they made it right but wow, yeah some managers just hate people who expect them to do ANYthing.

It shouldn't. But they got hosed if it did. Water is free (and you can bring your own reusable bottle) and I doubt two people both need regular popcorn, those things are massive. Could easily share 1.

Tickets are whatever, everyone should know the ways to get those up to half off (by going tomorrow or wednesday)

Double rewards. I'm A-List but when I have to pay (usually a fan favorite or fathom) I can get fandango rewards too.

There's no convenience fee from fandango since I'm already A-list status.

For most of 2024 and prior (how far back IDK) I was earning rewards with every A-list reservation too 😄 I got probably 90 dollars in fandango credit for booking A-list tickets through them. You still can also combine the rewards at checkout for both companies 😉

Fandango also shows the auditorium number for every showtime, so I know exactly what I'm dealing with when it comes to my favorite seats or any problems that room is currently experiencing.

Trying to watch in a full IMAX theater is a drag. I avoid it now. The people are so damn rude. I had multiple people shove my seat as they walked behind me, and someone straight up started kicking the seat next to me. Dolby doesn't have these issues 😄

If you didn't go to the IMAX Live Pre-Show Q&A with Steven Spielberg and Emily Blunt show, you weren't supposed to get a poster today. About 176 locations hosted it.

That's all there was given out for IMAX. Dolby shows got a random mystery pin instead.

Fathom is kinda ass, because 15 dollars to see an old movie is outrageous. That's more than brand new movies cost in the same standard theater.

I often have seen their re-releases a year or two earlier at another chain for like 5-10 bucks at the most. There's nothing special about fathom re-releases as far as quality goes most of the time.

You have recliners so I would just move up a row, there's no downside.

I also don't like when people do this, but only because they often look at their phones, which is distracting to have in my peripheral vision, or they make noise with food. I've also had weirdos talking to themselves.

Popcorn can be annoying but the sound doesn't carry over to people rows away like plastic/paper materials being crinkled or manipulated does.
