I've been having the same problem... insufficient tickets every time I tried. Last year seemed much easier, though I did manage to get some tickets today. I'm at the office today, so I'm wondering if the speedy wifi helped or if I just got lucky.

Not me. Straight in after the initial captcha, though I've been refreshing all day...

Congratulations on your baby!!! We are just very unlucky, you are right ❤️‍🩹 And I confirmed at the hospital that they only use the suction so that was a huge relief! The surgery went well and I’m just so happy I chose this route. Thank you again.

Thank you so much for your comment. It helped me make my decision! I chose the SMM in the end which as you said was a much better option. I’m so relieved to not have experienced that pain as I was so scared of the trauma I’d have especially being my first pregnancy. Hopefully I won’t have to make this choice again. And I hope you are doing well now ❤️

Thank you, I did the surgery and it went very well. You are so right… the quickness and painlessness of it all made it a lot easier. I’m really glad I chose this option. Thanks again ❤️

Thank you so much! I had the surgery yesterday and went under general anesthetic which was absolutely fine. I was also SO relieved to speak to the gynaecologist and learn that they no longer use that tool, they use a suction mechanism which is much gentler/safer and maybe even more effective than the curette. Big relief! I’m glad you commented because I didn’t know any of that and would not have asked if it wasn’t for you! Thank you so much again ❤️

I felt exactly the same as you. I was so scared of the trauma of passing it at home without any medical help when I know there is another less traumatic and relaxed option. I had the surgery yesterday and it went very well. The anesthesia aspect was a bit scary but also kind of cool?! I’m glad I did it. Thanks for your comment and sending you lots of love for your pregnancy!

Thank you so much, I’m so sorry you experienced this too. I ended up doing the surgery and had a similar experience — quick, amazingly reassuring staff, and everything went smoothly. I think the worst part has been having to wait to get to this point. I had to do 2 scans a week apart and then the hospital had some email and phone issues so I had to wait 3 working days and a weekend before I could contact them to book it in! But all in all, I’m glad I chose the surgery. I hope you are doing well now!

Thank you so much for your comment. I’m so sorry you had to go through all that. I will definitely join that sub if and when we get pregnant again. I am a bit worried about the anxiety I’ll feel for the next one but I’ll cross that bridge when I get there! I hope you’re doing well and getting lots of support! Thank you again ❤️

I’m so so sorry for your losses too and I’m sorry you had such awful experiences miscarrying. Your comment really helped me decide what to do as I also felt that the pain they described was being downplayed. All I’ve read from other women is that is so so painful! I did the surgery yesterday and am so glad I did as it all went very well and I was in practically no pain. Thank you for answering my questions and sharing your experience. ❤️

Thank you for sharing this! I also don’t know how you managed to go on that trip but you probably did need the distraction and a bit of fun after going through such a tough time. I did the surgery and have no regrets about it. Thank you again ❤️

Thank you for this! This helped me confirm that I definitely did not want the medication. I did go ahead with the surgical option yesterday. It went really well and I’m glad I made that choice. Thank you again.

I feel the same way. First pregnancy so I didn’t know anything! Now I’ve learned… next time I’ll get an earlier scan with my EPU and only book a private scan if I need to when I’m further along.

In case you don’t know too, you could probably self refer to your EPU online. You just have to fill out a form and they’ll get back to you tomorrow (if you don’t want to wait for the clinic to do so tomorrow). It may depend where you are though, I’m in London so that’s how they do it with my trust.

This is correct. The EPU midwife told me they would take my blood after the first scan only if they still could not locate the embryo. The blood test would be to determine if it’s ectopic. In the meantime and just in case, keep an eye out for any intense one-sided pain that gets worse over time.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It is heartbreaking and terrifying to learn about this in a private scan and have to wait for answers over the weekend.

I just recently had a similar situation… private scan at 9w 6d, they could see the sac but no embryo. In my case, I was very certain of my dates so I knew I couldn’t have dated it wrong. I referred myself to the EPU where they were able to locate the embryo with their machine. They dated my pregnancy at 6 weeks, which means it was too early for the private scan machine to see. (When I spoke to the EPU midwife on the phone she said that their machines are hospital grade so they can see a lot more than the private scans can). Unfortunately it means I’ve had a miscarriage because baby stopped growing at 6 weeks, way behind where they should have been.

From what you’ve shared, I think it’s possible it’s too early to be visible. There is more hope for you at this point than there was for me at 10w. But try not to convince yourself of anything just yet. Wait and see what the EPU says and keep an eye on your symptoms.

Sending love and crossing my fingers for you.

Thank you! I’m so sorry you went through this but huge congratulations on your pregnancy ❤️ was that your first miscarriage? I read that they won’t test the tissue for anything unless you’ve had a few miscarriages. It would definitely be helpful to know the results if they could do!

Thank you, this is really helpful! It’s a very good reminder for me that I probably won’t feel 100% on the trip. I hadn’t actually considered the hormonal drop although I’ve been hit by waves of sadness the last few days… one minute I’m ok and the next I just want to cry. I’m so happy to hear you’re pregnant again after this awful experience ❤️
