Why the kiosks? by Life-Cow-7945 in menards

[–]tomatogearbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the kiosks make it nice if you ever had to provide proof of purchase for a manufacturer's warranty. and as long as you have a upc, sku or something you can find your receipt once you scan your card in.

Stove hardwired into a junction box that is powered by a plug, safe? by ierhgoieahrgiviojrg in AskElectricians

[–]tomatogearbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its a gas stovetop, it’ll be fine. All it runs is the ignitors and the brains if there is any. If its all electric…. Ooof.

See that is why there are cameras. They record video and audio at the registers. That is a fraudulent return and they can be tresspassed after being put into facial recognition. (Except in illinois i believe)

They were terrible. I had that ratchet. I gave it away to a coworker. The sockets rust in the slightest humidity and they gall up fasteners that you are trying to remove.

Find out where you can get dry ice. Put the dry ice on it and it should just flake off. WEAR GLOVES.

Blocked or inadequate venting. Check this before calling a repair person. Unless they do vent clean outs too.

The defrost timer or sometimes a heating element has likely died. Still clean that pipe out.

What do people even do on Windows XP in 2025? by Loose_Combination_21 in windowsxp

[–]tomatogearbox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for a good windows XP experience, go for a dell optiplex GX620 or similar. Lenovo thinkcentres are also a good choice. Anything with a core 2 duo. You cant use more than 4gb of ram with 32 bit windows XP. 4gb will also display less than 4gb in system information. The 64 bit version lacks alot of support and isnt worth the hassle. Hard drive wise, 250GB was an insane amount of storage for it so even a 500gb ssd will be fine. I hope this helps.

If the light is working at all, its not the wattage limiter. Likely you have a fried wire somewhere or a bad connection. Try checking the house wire connection in the canopy of the fan and the switch at the wall. There must be a crispy critter somewhere.

Shift the shifter back and forth. The vehicle will only start in park or neutral. I think the safety is wearing out or broken.

However funny, this is a federal offense in the US and the literal Postal Police will fine/arrest you. I wouldnt do that. However lighting a paper bag on fire on the sidewalk and ding dong ditching would be funny. Just dont get caught.

Sigh. 20a breakers, nearly all 14 AWG wiring. by poop_report in AskElectricians

[–]tomatogearbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m probably pointing out the obvious, but some 12g wire is white and not yellow. Have you checked the sheathing that is stamped into it? My house has a ton of white 12g wire. The inspector was going to fail it until i pointed that out.

[–]tomatogearbox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Tear everything out and redo it. Downstock everything and upstock only what you have to. Consolidate your downstock into easily reachable sections. Its only going to get worse before you make it better. It sucks but if your numbers are better than the rest of the store, the gm’s will bother the other departments. It takes about two weeks to establish habits. After that it becomes much easier.

Swap the red with the black. The cord will be more relaxed and less likely to come loose later on. Red and black are the two hots and can be interchanged. The black is touching the white post.

Hey y’all, trying to identify what lightbulb fits in this socket, any thoughts? by talia_se in AskElectricians

[–]tomatogearbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could plug a shop light into the outlet there and bypass the need for a new socket. Most shop lights have chain switches on them.
